The real father’s safety is threatened. It becomes the last straw which strikes Hee-Joo down in When The Phone Rings: Episode 4. But she doesn’t expect the one who appears at her side is Sa-Eon when she feels helpless. He takes her leave after he explained it to the two cops.
Hee-Joo is moved and she feels sour. She cries in the car. Sa-Eon hands over a handkerchief to her. He lets her tear up. He explains it to her that he knew what happened to her father because he left his number in the nursing home.
He promises to transfer her father to a new nursing home. It’s the day the two gathering with Sa-Eon’s parents. Sa-Eon ignores his late. He takes Hee-Joo to another room. He reminds her that police will look into her if she conceals. He asks her to confess right now.
He knows his wife concealed something from him after he noted that she avoided his eyes. The waiter brings the food at that time. Sa-Eon asks Hee-Joo to calm down. He promises to deal with his parents. He goes to see his parents. He explains it to them that his wife is sick. He pretends not to hear his father’s grievances.
Hee-Joo wakes up. She goes downstairs to apologize to her in-laws. She sits next to Sa-Eon. Sa-Eon’s father Ui-Yong doesn’t like Hee-Joo. He complains it to her that he was tricked by her father. He thinks she’s a trash. Sa-Eon is cold to go to open the door.
He grabs the camera which is taking photos. He exposes that his father plans to post the gathering photo. He knows he wants to use his position for his election. He tells him that he’s the one who decides if he needs to take part in his election events. He tells him not to think about using dirty methods to make him give in.
He tries to take Hee-Joo to leave. Ui-Yong is furious to throw his glass to Sa-Eon. Sa-Eon avoids it. Ui-Yong grabs Sa-Eon’s collar. He tells him that he won’t have a good ending if he continues to be arrogant. Sa-Eon suspects that the Mysterious Man is his father. Because his father could do anything for making him give in.
He reminds his father that he could ran for the election because his grandpa. He ignores his reaction and he takes away his wife. Hee-Joo wants to shake off Sa-Eon’s hand. But he refuses to release her. He takes her downstairs of his house. He gets a call from Do-Jae at that time.
Sa-Eon lets Hee-Joo go upstairs. She remembers he has protected her all day. She’s moved. She cannot threaten him. She packs the special phone and she throws it into the trash bag. She’s going to go to throw out the garbage. He walks into the house.
He volunteers to go to throw out the garbage. The phone is ringing at that time. She takes the garbage bag to go to pick up the phone. The colleague in sign language center sends a video to Hee-Joo. She wishes her to pass the interview of presidential office.
Sa-Eon leans on the door. He wishes his wife to pass the interview as well. Hee-Joo remembers the intense relationship of him and his parents. She worries that he will be in a passive position if their parents know it. He knows what she thinks. He comforts her and he tells her not to follow others’ orders to live. He thinks it’s a good chance. He tells her not to give up.
The next day. Hee-Joo goes to the presidential office for interview. Sa-Eon watches her performance from the video. He finds out that she interpreted his speech simultaneous. He’s not calm. He goes to the interview scene. He asks someone to play his speech videos randomly.
He learns that Hee-Joo practice his videos many times. She can guess his pronunciation from watching his lips. He decides to test her. He asks her to interpret his words. What he says isn’t related to his work. It’s like exposing his heart.
He tells her that there’s a couple who cannot open their hearts to each other. He wonders if they can live like ordinary couples if they work hard from now on. It’s a satire that they’re testing each other at this moment. He comes out from his mind. He finds out that the confession was just in his mind. He announces to end the interview.
He remembers Hee-Joo told him that nobody is better than her at the job. He thought she was talking big. But he didn’t know she practiced his videos without stopping. He’s in tears and he feels sour. His heart aches for what she paid. He feels relieved that she cherished him.
Hee-Joo goes to the nursing home to see her father. He mentions what Sa-Eon said that he will protect them no matter what happens. She learns that he came to the nursing home. She feels confused. She doesn’t understand him. Young-Woo hands over the interview result to Sa-Eon. He asks him if he likes Hee-Joo. He reveals everyone likes the girl before he leaves. Sa-Eon looks at Hee-Joo’s photo. He remembers the first time he saw her.
It flashes back. Sa-Eon is out of place at the party. His mother Kyu-Jin brings the sashimi to him. She reminds him that it’s not polite that the people who got invited don’t eat food. She emphasizes that her son likes to eat fish. He puts a piece of fish into his mouth. He spits out after his mother left because he doesn’t like it.
He witnesses Hee-Joo’s mother Yeon-Hui grabbing the food from Hee-Joo. She tells her to be a noble lady like her older sister. Sa-Eon takes Hee-Joo to the corner. He tells her to enjoy the food. They know each other’s names. The fate begins from that moment.
Hee-Joo sees the messages that her older sister came back. She remembers her mother informed her to replace her older sister to get married. She remembers Sa-Eon told her that she needs to return to the original position if the ring’s owner comes back. She takes out the special phone from the garbage bag for protecting herself.
The next day. Hong family organizes a celebration. Yeon-Hui takes Hee-Joo to a room. She questions her if her father was transferred to a new nursing home. Hee-Joo replies it to her mother that Sa-Eon helped her. Her mother panics. She doesn’t wish the shame thing to be known by her husband Il-Kyeong.
She tells Hee-Joo that she won’t pay for her father’s treatment fees since Sa-Eon is helping her. She pulls off her shawl. She thinks she’s good looking when she wears the halter dress. Hee-Joo goes to the restroom. She hears the women talking about her. The woman thinks Hee-Joo is like a shadow to follow her older sister.
Hee-Joo looks around the whole hall. She thinks her existing is a joke. She’s lost and she goes to the rooftop. She uses the special phone to call Sa-Eon. She asks him about his feelings after knowing she replaced her older sister to marry him.
She laughs at herself that she’s just the adjunct of her older sister. But she gave in for the money. He tells her that she’s not anyone’s adjunct. He thinks she has her own language. She doesn’t know he knew her secret when he went to the police station for her.

The two cops cared for Hee-Joo. They revealed Hee-Joo yelled in the police car. Sa-Eon was shocked. He asks the cops to show him the footage. He saw his wife asking the cop to stop the car. He smiled.
