This is the recap for The King Eternal Monarch: Episode 1. Lee Lim tells Tae-Eul about a tale of flute, and she asks him if he killed his brother. He admits it and thinks his nephew Lee Gon will face the fate like him.
The King Eternal Monarch: Episode 1 Recap
Note: From here on out there are specific plot spoilers for The King Eternal Monarch: Episode 1.
Kingdom of Corea, Winter of 1994.
Lee Lim takes the four tiger sword and breaks into the palace with some killers, and he kills his brother the King. Lee Gon picks up the sword and cuts to Lee Lim. The flute is broken, and Lee Gon announces to punish Lee Lim.
But the gunners target Lee Gon, and Lee Lim stabs the Lee Gon’s neck with the broken flute. The masked man shows up and kills some of the gunners.
Lee Lim flees with his men. The masked man takes a look at the dying Lee Gon, and Lee Gon takes away his police ID.
Jong-In shows up at the airport, and Ok-Nam tells him that the guards are looking for Lee Lim. But Jong-In thinks Lee Lim had plan to run away.
Lee Lim flees to the bamboo forest, and the space gate opens for him because he takes the flute.
The man runs into Lee Lim at the street, and calls him brother. Lee Lim asks him to take him to see his brother, and sees himself sitting on the wheelchair. He kills himself.
Lee Gon returns home and knows that Lee Lim killed his uncle. Lee Gon picks up a stick, and Lee Lim walks to Lee Gon while ruining the family photo.
The police asks Jeong-Hye to recognize the body, and she says that the body is her husband. She intends to cremate the body.
Jeong-Hye returns home and washes the dishes Lee Lim left, and she laughs as she can leave the house with Ji-Hun. But she sees Lee Lim walking to her.
The new king Jo Young tries to give the cookie to Lee Gon, but Lee Gon rejects it. The body thinks Lee Gon is too rude to the king. Ok-Nam points out that it’s all part of a plan.
Lee Gon tells Jo Young to get out of the palace, and asks him who is his dad. Jo Young says that he is his dad’s friend.
After the previous king’s funeral, Lee Gon gets on knees to cry. Jo Young cries as well, so Lee Gon gives Jo Young the unbreakable sword.
The guard is found on the beach, and Jong-In tells Ok-Nam that the guard didn’t take his life but being shot by another guard.
Lee Gon intends to get Seo-Ryeong to be queen, but Ok-Nam rejects it as she wants Lee Gon to get married.
Seo-Ryeong walks to Lee Gon and greets his horse Maximus. He tells her that Maximus bites people, and she reveals she bites people as well.
Seo-Ryeong tells Lee Gon that the nation is peaceful, and wants to learn horse riding. He says, “If you have trained honestly every time, your horse will take you to be edge of the world.” He asks her if she is honest.
The person wears black rabbit clothes and fires to the sky, and Lee Gon hunts her. But she is missing. Jo Young finds Lee Gon and asks him why he suddenly ran. Lee Gon says that he saw the white rabbit with the clock.
Lee Gon tells Jo Young that he tried to find the woman who saved him 25 years. But Jo Young thinks the woman is aged, and Lee Gon doesn’t need her help now.
Tae-Eul crashes into the car, and drives away. But she realizes that there’s a weird smell. So she drives back and finds the body in the trunk. She and his team members catch the culprit.
Lee Gon spots the black rabbit woman running through with high speed. He rides the Maximus to chase her.
Tae-Eul tells Shin-Jae that the dead named Sang-Do, and he is a hardware store owner. Shin-Jae checks the security footage.
Tae-Eul is startled by herself in the car, and thinks she’s really getting old. She sees Lee Gon riding the white horse through her, and she asks him to get down while showing her ID card.
Lee Gon walks to take a look at Tae-Eul’s ID card, and he hugs her.
