Episode 1
Suzune is born to be a half demon and half human. Because she has a blood red eye. She’s abandoned by her father. He doesn’t know her real identity is the Demon Queen who will lead demons. She’s driven away from home. Her brother Jinta takes her to leave the town.
They run into a good person on the way. The man is named Motoharu. He lives in a village of forging knives. He has a daughter who’s the same age as them. Her name is Shirayuki. Shirayuki’s appearing gives Suzune a sense of crisis. Jinta cannot sleep in the evening. He finds out that Motoharu is cleaning his weapon. He mistakes him for a samurai. Motoharu explains that he’s a witch guardian. The witch guardian’s mission is to protect the witch.
Jinta blends into the village soon after Shirayuki leaded him. He knows a girl. He sees the girl hugging her mother. He remembers he hasn’t seen Shirayuki’s mother after he came to the place. Shirayuki explains that her mother is the witch who serves Vulcan. Her mother wants to maintain her sanctity so that she cannot contact with mortals. Only the village head and his father can see her mother.
Jinta grows up. He becomes a witch guardian. Because there’re two demons who pretend to be human appearing near the village. The villagers are scared. The village head thinks the demons’ target is the witch. Although demon owns thousands of years of life, he can be immortality as long as he eats the liver of the witch. After all, the previous witch was eaten by a demon. Motoharu seals the demon after he paid his life.
But the witch thinks the case is related to the sword. The sword is the heritage of the witches. It’s valuable to ghosts. The village head’s son Kiyomasa breaks the serious atmosphere when everyone is guessing. He thinks the demons can be taken down easily because there’re two witch guardians.
The witch shows her real looks after everyone left. She’s Shirayuki who’s grown up. Shirayuki tells Jinta that his sister is here. He’s startled because Suzune will be dragged to be beheaded if she’s found out. Shirayuki explains that Suzune came to the place for Jinta.
Suzune leaves. The village head shows up. He asks Jinta to leave the room. Jinta refuses to accept the order because he’s a witch guardian. But Shirayuki wishes him to leave as well. She asks him to guard the village. The words reminds him the time when he was a kid.
Motoharu and the late witch just sacrificed. Shirayuki made a decision to be a witch because her mother loved the land deeply. She wanted to do something for the land. Jinta knew her decision. He made the decision to be a witch guardian. Because it’s the only way to see her.
There’re two demons visiting the village. Clairvoyant Demon sees the target after she used her ability. The target is Suzune. The next day, Jinta finds out that Shirayuki left the shrine secretly. She claims that she got the village head’s permission.
Shirayuki and Jinta are going to go out. Suzune is very happy because she likes Jinta. He touches her head after he heard her words. He and Shirayuki have a date. They go to the place where they made a vow. She confesses it to him that she decided to marry Kiyomasa. The village head visited her for the case. He wished her to leave a child for avoiding the fate of the late witch. Kiyomasa is a witch guardian and he has the bloodline.
Shirayuki hints at Jinta that they can run away from the village. But the stupid protagonist thinks he denies all the hard work of the past if he leaves. She has to accept her fate. Someone finds out that there was a demon appearing in the forest.
Shirayuki sends Jinta to go to raid. Kiyomasa stays for guarding the village. He visits Jinta. He knows Jinta and Shirayuki love each other. He wishes Jinta to take Shirayuki to leave. But Jinta goes to the forest and he’s attacked by Assimilation Demon. Jinta cuts off Assimilation Demon’s arm. It makes Assimilation Demon be interested in Jinta.
Meanwhile, Clairvoyant Demon tempts Suzune and she invites her to join them. Suzune rejects it until she sees Shirayuki and Kiyomasa sleeping together. Clairvoyant Demon tells Suzune that she can see what will happen. Suzune decides to go to the shrine for confirming it.
Jinta’s arm is broken when he fights Assimilation Demon. His sword is bitten off. He stabs Assimilation Demon’s heart with the broken sword. Assimilation Demon cannot move. He tells Jinta that he’s completed the task. Clairvoyant Demon has an ability clairvoyant. She knows what will happen 170 years later. Demon Queen will come. Their goal is to look for Demon Queen.
Jinta realizes that Demon Queen is his sister. Assimilation Demon gives a present to Jinta before he passes away. Jinta is in coma after the broken arm grabbed him. Kiyomasa wants to sleep with Shirayuki. But he doesn’t choose to force her.
She thinks about the promise she and Jinta made. She chooses to take off her clothes. It’s seen by Clairvoyant Demon and Suzune. Suzune is shocked that Shirayuki betrayed her brother. She mistook that she can let Jinta be happiness if she chooses to tolerate. But she got the result.
Shirayuki explains that she did it for Jinta. But it makes Suzune misunderstand her more. Clairvoyant Demon bewitches Suzune. Suzune shows her real looks. She plans to kill Shirayuki. Kiyomasa tries to take action. But he’s stunned by Clairvoyant Demon.
Jinta wakes up. His arm recovers. He returns to the village and he sees the bodies after he reached the shrine. He mistakes that it’s not too late. But Shirayuki is killed. He doesn’t believe it when he carries his lover’s dead body.
Suzune takes Shirayuki’s head. She wishes her brother to praise her. Jinta is furious to cut his sister. But she avoids it. He knows the demon is his sister, according to her voice. He questions her why she killed Shirayuki. She claims that she did it after the woman betrayed him.
His rage reaches the top. He knows the sister he knows doesn’t exist anymore. Suzune attacks Jinta after she thought she was betrayed. But her hand is stuck when she tries to pull it out. He punches her and he wants to kill her after he found out that she’s not dead. But Clairvoyant Demon blocks the fatal blow. She completes her mission after Suzune left safely. She disappears then. Jinta hates himself for not guarding the girl he likes.
The next day, Jinta goes out on a long journey. He does it for raiding the demons who come to the place. The village head gives the sword to Jinta. He thinks he should take it because the witches are dead. He apologizes to him for Shirayuki’s marriage. He knew it early that Jinta and Shirayuki love each other. But his son loves the witch as well. He did it because of his selfishness. He made the tragedy. Jinta forgives the village head. He says goodbye to his childhood friend. He’s on a journey.
