These are the Recap & Ending for Story of Kunning Palace: Episode 29. Xie Wei thinks it’s a good thing the Shen Zhiyi marries to Great Yue. But Jiang Xuening points out that Shen Zhiyi will be killed first if Great Yue has a battle with Great Qian.
Does Xie Wei Promise to Help Shen Zhiyi?

Xie Wei wonders why Jiang Xuening knows there will be battle. He tells her that Shen Zhiyi’s marriage has been decided. She remembers he agreed to it when she wished to exchanged her life with Zhang Zhe’s life. She believes that she can use the grace to let him help Shen Zhiyi.
She tells him that she wants to give it a try even if she knows she will be killed. She gets on knees to him. She tells him that he doesn’t owe anything to her if he helps Shen Zhiyi. He stops her and he holds her chin. He wonders if she doesn’t wish to be related to him.
He promises to help Shen Zhiyi. But he doesn’t wish her to hear the words from her again. She leaves his room. Shen Jie persuades Empress Dowager to let Emperor take back his order. But she rejects it because the order has been released.
Shen Zhiyi mentions Empress Dowager was against Emperor for Shen Jie’s marriage. She’s surprised that her mother refused to do something for her. Empress Dowager reminds Shen Zhiyi that she has her duty because she’s the princess of Great Qian.
Who Makes Shen Zhiyi Marry to Great Yue?
Shen Zhiyi tells Shen Jie not to beg Empress Dowager. She thinks she’s nobody in her mother’s heart. Empress Dowager claims that she wishes Shen Zhiyi to be happy because Shen Zhiyi is her child as well. She thinks she could save Shen Zhiyi if Xue Shu didn’t ruin her plan.
But Shen Zhiyi thinks Empress Dowager should take duty for what Xue Shu did. Because Empress Dowager trained Xue Shu. Shen Zhiyi tells her mother not to be obsessed with power. She leaves her palace. Shen Jie chases Shen Zhiyi. He tells her that he wants to persuade Emperor for her.
But she reminds him that his consort election day is going to come. She persuades him not to let Jiang Xuehui down. He wishes them to be born from ordinary family. Xie Wei walks into the zither room with Lv Xian. He hears the two guys talking about Elder Princess’s marriage.
He plans to let the prisoner replace Elder Princess after she leaves the palace. Lv Xian thinks it’s a good plan. But he worries that Great Yue won’t forgive Great Qian. Xie Wei comforts Xie Wei that the court will welcome Marquis Yan if Great Yue attacks Great Qian. Lv Xian thinks Xie Wei takes the risk for helping Jiang Xuening. He reminds him that he will ruin the effort.
Jiang Xuehui gets on knees to the memorial tablets of her ancestors. Madam Meng watches her outside. She turns around and sees her husband. She thinks Jiang Xuehui made the decision. Master Jiang comforts Madam Meng that Jiang Xuehui wasn’t the only one did that.
She wonders why he fought with Xue family. He reminds her that they cannot stop their daughters because the two children have grown up. Jiang Xuehui tries to leave Jiang family. She turns around and sees Madam Meng. She calls her. But Madam Meng flees. The maid reminds Jiang Xuehui that it’s the time to get into the palace.
The consort election begins. Consort Qin persuades Empress Dowager to choose Jiang Xuehui. But Empress Dowager lets Consort Qin go to have a seat. Xue Shu shows up with Empress. Empress Dowager wonders why Xue Shu came. Empress explains it to her mother-in-law that it was Emperor’s order.
Empress Dowager sneers. She thinks her son and her niece are pretty good. Linzi Prince shows up. He looks unhappy. He takes a look at Jiang Xuehui. The eunuch servers Linzi Prince the flowers. He asks him to give the Chinese rose to the side consort.
Linzi Prince remembers his mother told him to give side consort to Jiang Xuehui. He claimed that he won’t get married all his life if he cannot marry Jiang Xuehui. She got angry. He wondered why she was against Jiang Xuehui. She mentioned Jiang Xuehui made him go against her. She let him get on knees in her palace. She left.
Emperor reminded Linzi Prince that the side consort isn’t so important because Lin Zi Prince is going to move out after he gets married. He revealed that he married Xue Shu for Shen Jie. He coughed. Linzi Prince felt guilty for bringing trouble to Emperor. Emperor reminded Linzi Prince that Empress Dowager will give poisoned wine to Jiang Xuehui if he insists on giving main consort position to Jiang Xue Hui.
Linzi Prince gives the Chinese rose to Jiang Xuehui when he feels sorry for her. She takes a look at him. She remembers he promised her that he will complete the rest steps if she does the first step. She accepts the Chinese rose from him. She thanks him for his grace.
He tries to leave. But his mother reminds him that he didn’t give out the position of main consort. He gives the peony to the girl. The girl thinks she had a bad luck. Jiang Xuehui tears up. Jiang Xuening’s maids watch the servants pack the wedding gifts. They feel sad for Jiang Xuehui. Mei Er is sad as well because her master didn’t become main consort.
Jiang Xuening finds Jiang Xuehui in the memorial hall. She joins her. Jiang Xuehui reveals she prepared the lamp for Wan Niang in Baiguo Temple. She took the lamp home because she thought she cannot leave the palace if she marries Shen Jie.
But she got the result. She thinks Jiang Xuening is very happy now. Jiang Xuening admits that she hated Jiang Xuehui before. But she thinks she wouldn’t endure it if she was tied like Jiang Xuehui. Jiang Xuehui wonders if Jiang Xuening was easy when she lived in countryside. Jiang Xuening reveals she and Wan Niang were bullied in the countryside after they were kicked out from Jiang family. She tells Jiang Xuehui that Wan Niang was an outstanding woman. But she noted that Wan Niang looked at someone else through her eyes.
It flashes back. Jiang Xuening puts the flower crown on Wan Niang’s head. Wan Niang laughs. She thinks the flower crown is very beautiful. Jiang Xuening comforts Wan Niang that she will take her to Jiang family. But Wan Niang is furious to return the flower crown to Jiang Xuening. She tells her to return to the capital alone.
Jiang Xuening thinks Wan Niang didn’t want to return to the capital because she didn’t want to ruin Jiang Xuehui’s future. She hands over the bracelet to Jiang Xuehui. She reveals Wan Niang asked her to give the bracelet to Jiang Xuehui before Wan Niang passed away.
Jiang Xuening tells Jiang Xuehui that she swore not to return the bracelet to her even if she dies when she saw her. Jiang Xuehui thinks she would do same thing. Jiang Xuening mentions she has returned everything to Jiang Xuehui. She thinks the side consort isn’t hard than their positions. The two sisters smile when they look at each other.
Jiang Xuening leaves the ancestral hall. She takes a look at Jiang Xuehui. She thinks she can change the ending of the princess. Xie Wei meets with Xue Dingfei. He’s told that the the royal bodyguards were replaced by Xingwu Guards.
Xue Dingfei reveals Consort Xian did it. Lv Xian worries that Consort Xian knew Xie Wei’s plan. Xie Wei gives up the previous plan. He decides to take action in the palace. Lv Xian thinks the dead body cannot be carried into the palace. He offers to let a solder who wants to die replace the princess.
Shen Zhiyi dresses up in her palace. Lady Su puts the hairpin into Shen Zhiyi’s hair. She tears up. Shen Zhiyi persuades Lady Su to smile. Xue Shu shows up. She mentions Emperor allowed the study partners to come to see Shen Zhiyi. She thinks she should come because she was the study partner of the princess.
Shen Zhiyi thinks Xue Shu worries that she will flee since she took so many people to her palace. Xue Shu points out that she worries that someone will save Shen Zhiyi. She mentions Jiang Xuening is a brave girl. She tells Shen Zhiyi that she won’t forgive Jiang Xuening if the girl does something bad.
Shen Zhiyi mentions Xue Shu blamed her and Jiang Xuening for hurting her when they were outside Taian Palace. She thinks Xue Shu will have the ugly face even if Xue Shu married Linzi Prince. She thinks she would hide longer. She thinks she should be close to her since they’re cousins. She slaps her and she thinks she’s cheap.
Xue Shu claims that everyone wants to live with dignity. She tells Shen Zhiyi that she thought she can be a princess as well. She thinks she doesn’t know the hardship of the slaves. She leaves the palace and she asks her followers to report it to her if Jiang Xuening came. She believes that the lady will do something.
Shen Zhiyi walks out of her palace. Lady Su tells Shen Zhiyi that Jiang Xuening won’t come. But Shen Zhiyi believes that Jiang Xuening will come. Jiang Xuening runs alone the hallway. She remembers Xie Wei told her that she and Shen Zhiyi don’t have any time because Xue Shu replaced the guards. She thought it’s fine and she decided to make decision after she sees the princess. He reminded her that Shen Zhiyi won’t be princess if she flees.
He asked her if she’s sure that she will convince the princess. She mentioned what the princess told her that she wants to get the free life outside the palace. She believed that the princess will agree to it.
Lady Su persuades Shen Zhiyi to go to say goodbye to Emperor and Empress Dowager. Shen Zhiyi tries to leave. But Jiang Xuening stops her. It makes Shen Zhiyi turn around. She’s very happy after she saw Jiang Xuening. Jiang Xuening takes Shen Zhiyi to the palace. She closes the door.
She tells her that she will help her leave the palace. But Shen Zhiyi doesn’t want to flee. Jiang Xuening mentions what Shen Zhiyi said that she wants to flee from the palace. But Shen Zhiyi claims that it was a joke after she drank.
Jiang Xuening thinks Shen Zhiyi came to look for her because she didn’t want to marry to Great Yue. Shen Zhiyi tells Jiang Xuening that she’s very happy that she arranged so much for her. But she thinks she cannot flee. She claims that she’s the princess of Great Qian.
Jiang Xuening persuades Shen Zhiyi not to shoulder it because the nation doesn’t belong to her alone. She cries to tell her that she will be killed if she marries to Great Yue. She begs her not to be kind. Shen Zhiyi reveals she worries that she will be a coward if she flees.
Jiang Xuening shakes her head. She asks Shen Zhiyi not to do that. She tries to take her away. But Shen Zhiyi rejects it because she has made the decision. She asks Jiang Xuening not to cry to send her off. She gives a box to her.
Jiang Xuening opens the box and she sees the soil. Shen Zhiyi mentions Jiang Xuening told Yan Lin that he will be a grand general in the future. She asks her to bless her. She asks her to come to look for her with the soil after Yan Lin ruins Great Yue. She asks her to put the makeup on her.
Jiang Xuening puts the makeup on Shen Zhiyi. Shen Zhiyi mentions what Jiang Xuening told her that she won’t fear anything if her heart is strong enough. She tells Jiang Xuening that she doesn’t fear anything. She persuades her not to worry about her.
Lady Su shows up. She informs Shen Zhiyi that Emperor and Empress Dowager are in Tai Chi Palace. She persuades her to go to the palace. Shen Zhiyi gives the box to Jiang Xuening. She tells her that she cannot protect her. She asks her to protect herself. She leaves.
Jiang Xuening tears up. She chases Shen Zhiyi out of the palace. She promises her that she will come to pick her up with the soil when Yan Lin ruins Great Yue. The eunuch reports to Xue Shu that Jiang Xuening went to Phoenix Palace. She asks him to seal the palace gate. Jiang Xuening walks into the palace with the box.

Episode 29 of Story of Kunning Palace ends with Xue Shu running into Jiang Xuening in the palace. She’s surprised that the lady didn’t do anything. She walks to her and she asks her about the feelings to see the princess off. Jiang Xuening mentions Xue Shu married Shen Zhiyi to Great Yue.
Xue Shu blames Jiang Xuening for making her be Consort Xian. But Jiang Xuening points out that Xue Shu chose the path on her own. She thinks she cannot cover her ugly face even if she blames others. Xue Shu slaps Jiang Xuening. She mentions her position is higher than her position. She swears to repay her for what she suffered.
Jiang Xuening laughs. She tells Xue Shu that she couldn’t force the princess to leave. She reveals the princess married to Great Yue because of her courage. She tells her that she feels dirty when she looks at her. Xue Shu slaps Jiang Xuening again. She learns that she looked down on her again. She plans to let her see what she can do.
