Why Doesn’t Zhang Zhe Wish Xue Yuan to Go to Border?

Gu Chunfang thinks Great Yue showed the real face of wolf. Chancellor Yao wonders why Great Yue attacked them since there’re Yan Troops guarding the border. The chancellor reveals Yan Troops need a lot of money after they lost their chief.
Emperor believes that Great Yue took action after they knew it. He asks Chancellor Jiang how much money they can collect. Chancellor Jiang reveals the nation bank is empty. He thinks it will be hard if they attack Great Yue. Emperor wonders if they need to wait Great Yue to ruin them.
Xue Yue volunteers to go to the border to change the armors. But Zhang Zhe is against it. Because he thinks Xue Yuan is a sinner. Xue Yuan wonders if Zhang Zhe wishes to give the princess to Great Yue. Zhang Zhe recommends the general Yan Mu.
Will Emperor Let Yan Family Take Back the Power?
But Xue Yuan thinks Yan Mu isn’t qualified to lead the troops because Yan Mu was exiled. He tells Emperor that he wishes to do something for the nation. But Emperor needs to think about it. Xue Dingfei doesn’t believe that Xue Yuan can lead the troops.
Lv Xian thinks Xue Yuan did it for the benefits. Xie Wei thinks Xue Yuan wants to control the nation with his personal soldiers. He reveals Zhang Zhe asks Emperor to let Yan Mu come back. Xue Dingfei wonders if Emperor agreed to it.
Lv Xian thinks Emperor didn’t agree to it. Because Xie Wei is upset. Xue Dingfei wonders if Emperor will actually let princess marry to Great Yue. Xie Wei believes that Emperor won’t let Yan family take back the power because he tried his best to get it.
Aunt Yang persuades Madam Meng that Xue family won’t hurt Jiang Xuening. Madam Meng points out that other girls didn’t date Prince Linzi. The servant reports to Madam Meng that Elder Princess visited her. Madam Meng goes to see Elder Princess. Elder Princess reveals she came to see Jiang Xuening.
Jiang Xuening walks Elder Princess on the street. She promises to be her guide for one day. Elder Princess drinks with Jiang Xuening. She’s surprised that the night view of the capital is so beautiful. Jiang Xuening mentions everyone wishes to leave the palace.
Elder Princess agrees to what Jiang Xuening said. She thinks she has no choice. Jiang Xuening comforts Elder Princess that she was very lucky. But Elder Princess doesn’t give to be born in royal family if she has a chance to be reborn. She throws away the wine bottle.
Jiang Xuening realizes that something happened in the palace. Elder Princess denies it. She reveals she plans to go to travel with Jiang Xuening. She believes that Yan Lin will take them to leave the capital. The general shows up. He reminds Elder Princess that it’s time to return to the palace. He plans to wait for her if she wants to stay there for a while.
Elder Princess decides to leave. She asks Jiang Xuening not to come to the palace. She comforts her that everything is fine. She leaves. Jiang Xuening returns home. The maid reports to her that Emperor intends to marry Elder Princess to Great Yue. Jiang Xuening remembers she saw the coffin of Elder Princess after Elder Princess married to Great Yue.
Jiang Xuening visits Xie Wei when he’s playing Go. She realizes that he knew Elder Princess is going to marry to Great Yue. She thinks she can change Elder Princess’s fate because Emperor didn’t give the order. She reveals she has a plan.
He asks her to play the Go with him. He persuades her to use the Go to manipulate people. She gets the answer. She asks him to borrow someone to her. Jiang Xuening and Xue Dingfei watch Weng Ang at the bar. Weng Ang complains it to his friends that Great Qian should marry Lady Xue to Great Yue. But he’s taken away by his friends.
Xue Dingfei reveals Weng Ang was proud because he thought he got talent. He wonders if Jiang Xuening has feelings for Weng Ang. She reveals she plans to let the people’s voice stop the princess from marrying to Great Yue. She believes that he knows some people.
But he asks her for money. She gives 30,000 silver to him. He’s surprised that she’s so rich. She reveals she prepared it for someone else. He wonders why she chose him. She confesses it to him because his name is Xue. She believes that Xue family will take the blame if he gets caught.
Lv Xian meets with Xie Wei. He reports to him that Xue Yuan bought some military material. Xie Wei wonders how many soldiers Xue Yuan raised. Xue Dingfei realizes that Xue Yuan is going to rebel. Xie Wei believes that Xue Yuan concealed his plan from Empress Dowager.
The follower reports to Xie Wei that Zhou Yinzhi visited him. Zhou Yinzhi meets with Xie Wei. He complains to him that Xue Yuan suspected him because he helped Jiang Xuening. He asks him for a bright path. Xie Wei reveals Emperor is looking into the troops of Xue Yuan. He persuades him to go to look for the evidence so that he can mention his credits when he reports it to Emperor.
Xue Dingfei walks out of his room. He hears the people thinking Xue family should marry his daughter to Great Yue. He goes to see Jiang Xuening after he made it. The chancellor follows Xie Wei. He mentions the embezzlement case of Xue Yuan. But Xie Wei thinks Xue Yuan will take care of it. Zhang Zhe’s teacher wonders who spread the rumors of Xue family. But Zhang Zhe doesn’t know it.
Xue Ye finds Weng Ang. He beats him. Weng Ang learns that Xue Ye did it because of the rumor of Xue family. But he doesn’t intend to change his words. Xue Ye lets his bodyguards catch Weng Ang. Weng Ang reminds Xue Ye that the palace doesn’t belong to Xue family.
Xue Ye tries to kill Weng Ang. But Dao Qin hits off Xue Ye’s sword. Weng Ang lets the people take a look at what Xue family did. Xue Ye has to leave. Xue Dingfei wonders if Jiang Xuening let him leak the message of Weng Ang to Xue Ye for the scene.
Jiang Xuening admits it. She thinks Xue family will be under the attack of the scholars in the world. Fei Dingfei asks Jiang Xuening why she didn’t fear Weng Ang being killed by Xue Ye. She points out that Xie Wei sent Dao Qin to protect Weng Ang.
Xue Dingfei thinks Jiang Xuening was heartless to Xie Wei. She glares at him. He laughs to slap himself. Xue Yuan slaps Xue Ye in his house. He blames him for bringing trouble to him. Xue Ye begs his father to give him another chance. Xue Yuan thinks they should follow the people’s will to let Xue Shu marry to Great Yue.
Xue Shu eavesdrops on the conversation outside. She goes to see Empress Dowager. She cries to ask her to save her. But Empress Dowager refuses to help Xue Shu. She persuades her to leave. Xue Shu wonders if Empress Dowager plans to send her to Great Yue.
Empress Dowager points out that Elder Princess is her real daughter. She thinks Xue Shu should go to Great Yue since Elder Princess can go to Great Yue. She thinks Xue Shu is very stupid. She lets the eunuchs take away Xue Shu.
Xue Shu cries when she gets on knees in front of Empress Dowager’s palace. But Empress Dowager refuses to see her. It’s evening. Xue Shu needs to leave the palace. The maid comes to lead Xue Shu’s way when she takes the lantern. She sees the gecko who climbs on the palace wall. She drives the gecko away.
Xue Shu asks the maid to give the lantern to her. She claims that she can leave the palace on her own. The maid is happy to leave. Emperor decides to go to see Consort Qin. But Xue Shu visits him. She gets on knees to him. He wonders why she visited him because they weren’t close.
She reveals she came to help him. She promises to be his knife if he plans to get rid of Xue family. But he doesn’t trust her because her name is Xue. But she thinks she’s just a chess piece of her father and her aunt. She takes off her clothes. She reveals she plans to be his chess piece. She walks to him. She sleeps with him.
Madam Xue walks out of Xue Yuan out of Xue House. She worries about Xue Shu. But Xue Yuan thinks they don’t have to worry about their daughter because he knows Xue Shu went to see Empress Dowager. He intends to punish Xue Shu because she was against his order.
Eunuch Wang shows up. He reveals Xue Shu has been Consort Xian. Xue Shu visits Empress Dowager. Empress Dowager doesn’t wish to see Xue Shu. Xue Shu leaves Empress Dowager’s palace. She runs into Shen Zhiyi. Shen Zhiyi wonders why Xue Shu did it.
Xue Shu mentions everyone forced her. She blames Shen Zhiyi for letting her replace her to marry to Great Yue. Shen Zhiyi wonders if what Xue Shu did is right. Xue Shu claims that there’s only win or loss in the world. She leaves. Jiang Xuening learns that Xue Shu slept with Emperor. Xue Dingfei thinks Xue Shu ruined her reputation even if she got the position of consort. But Jiang Xuening knows Xue Shu saved herself.

Episode 28 of Story of Kunning Palace ends with Xue Shu persuading Emperor to marry Shen Zhiyi to Great Yue. She reminds him that they can go to pick up Shen Zhiyi after he resolved the court case. Jiang Xuening thinks Emperor gave the title “consort” to Xue Shu because Xue Shu agreed to deal with Xue family for him. Xie Wei thinks it’s a good thing because they want to deal Xue family as well. But Jiang Xuening worries that Shen Zhiyi will be killed if Great Yue attacks Great Qian. Xie Wei wonders why she knows there will be a battle.
