This is the recap for SKY Castle Korean Drama: Episode 16. When Woo-Joo thinks of Hye-Na, Chi-Young walks in and confesses, “I hoped that you’d never have to go through the pain of losing someone precious to you ever again. I’m so sorry. After your mom passed away, I wouldn’t have been able to endure it if it weren’t for you. You can resent me and blame me for what happened, but I hope you don’t suffer all on your own. I’ll always be on your side.”
SKY Castle Korean Drama Recap: Episode 16

Woo-Joo tears up because he knows his father had no choice, and regrets to invite Hye-Na to his party. Chi-Young comforts his son and tells him that it’s not his fault. But Woo-Joo cannot forget Hye-Na, “She died only after having studied all her life. What does that make of her life, Dad? Why did she has to die in vain like that?”
Seo-Jin asks herself if Ye-Seo killed Hye-Na when she remembers Joo-Young’s words, “All she had to do was play the clip. Even if she did something else, no one would know.” She sneaks into Ye-Seo’s room and thinks, “There’s no way my daughter would’ve done that,” When Ye-Seo sleeps like an angel. Seo-Jin gets the cover for Ye-Seo, and Ye-Seo apologizes to Hye-Na in her dream. Seo-Jin touches her daughter’s hair, and tells her it’s just a nightmare.
When Seo-Jin drives Ye-Bin and Soo-Han to school, the police arrests Woo-Joo as the suspect. Chi-Young yells, “My son is innocent!” When Soo-Im is going to go to police station to help her son, Chi-Young is intention to bring Min-Hyuk together. He warns the police not to start the investigation before the attorney arrives. Jin-Hee startles Seo-Jin when she is intention to ask her if Woo-Joo killed Hye-Na. Seo-Jin offers to talk it later.
Chi-Young visits Min-Hyuk and asks him a favor. But Min-Hyuk rejects him with the excuse that he is a full-time professor. So Chi-Young asks Min-Hyuk to get another attorney for him. Min-Hyuk blinks that it will cause more trouble. So Chi-Young leaves when he gets what Min-Hyuk means. Seung-Hye persuades her husband to help Woo-Joo as his friend’s father. Min-Hyuk smirks, “Did you forget that I start teaching from the first period today?”
He tells her not to get involved when she is washing the glass. She is furious to splash water on his face, and reminds him that he is a father as well. He explains that their kids need to concentrate on school, and points out that the detectives took Woo-Joo away in handcuffs. This means they have evidence that no one can deny. But she doesn’t believe Woo-Joo did it because he is a model student, and he has great personality.
Min-Hyuk doesn’t believe anyone after he was betrayed by his daughter, and warns his wife not to get the kids distracted. Seung-Hye calls Soo-Im and introduces a lawyer to her.
The police shares that Woo-Joo’s skin cells were found under Hye-Na’s fingernails, so he thinks Woo-Joo pushed her. But Woo-Joo tears up, “Hye-Na had already fallen by the time I reached the balcony.” The lawyer asks him to think of it carefully, “Did you two hold hands or make physical contact?” He remembers they had a squabble before playing the mafia game.
Hye-Na gave the gift certificate to Woo-Joo. But he was intention to wear identical wish bracelets with her, and asked her what he means to her. She said that she isn’t as bored as he is, and he thought she never takes him seriously. But she told him to quit and wanted to leave. He held her hand and asked her, “Don’t you know how I feel?” She yelled, “I don’t and I don’t want to know. I’m not able to care abut you too.”
The lawyer questions the detective, “He scratched her during a fight. Just because you have skin cells doesn’t mean it was murder.” So he shows the footage to them, and points out Woo-Joo is the only person who wore a red hoodie that night. Woo-Joo yells, “It wasn’t me!” Soo-Im thinks someone wore a red hoodie and killed Hye-Na to make it look like Woo-Joo did it.
Teacher Jo tells Joo-Young that Woo-Joo will likely be detained. She thinks the boy must get a guilty verdict, and offers to wrap things up so the police don’t catch on. She says that their job is to help Ye-Seo get accepted. Seo-Jin gets coffees for Seung-Hye and Jin-Hee. Jin-Hee recognizes the coffee is hazelnut, and thinks Seo-Jin brewed it especially for Seung-Hye. Seung-Hye feels sorry because she had a fight with Seo-Jin, but Seo-Jin thinks it’s fine.
Jin-Hee says that they fought because of the circumstances. Seung-Hye mentions when everyone gossiped about Se-Ri not being in Harvard, Woo-Joo spent a whole day with her twin boys. So she doesn’t believe he hurt Hye-Na. But Seo-Jin thinks the police wouldn’t take him without any evidence, and thinks he had a dark past that they don’t know. She guesses that Woo-Joo was stressed out.

President Choi thanks Joon-Sang and thinks his grandson died if he didn’t help him. He wants to have dinner with Joon-Sang and Chi-Young. Joon-Sang shows the news to President Choi, who is shocked that Chi-Young’s son is a murderer. President Choi thinks it’s too much for Joon-Sang taking on the executive director role. But Joon-Sang wants to do it. President Choi laughs and thinks Joon-Sang is as ambitious as he is.
Joon-Sang tells President Choi that he is his role model. Seo-Jin congratulates Joon-Sang for getting the position. Joon-Sang thinks Yang-Woo told her the news, and wants to kick Chi-Young out of the hospital. He thinks she shouldn’t bring Hye-Na to the house, and the girl always brought trouble just like Ga-Eul. In Gyu takes Soo-Im and Lawyer Hong to the castle Hye-Na died. Hye-Na prepares shoes and gloves for Soo-Im.
Soo-Im finds a box inside, and Lawyer Hong takes photos of the box. Soo-Im goes outside and asks In Gyu if anyone else other than their kids entered the guest house on the day of Woo-Joo’s birthday party. He denies and reveals only residents of Sky Castle can enter the premises. Lawyer Hong thinks it must be one of the residents, and asks Soo-Im who might have wanted to kill Hye-Na.
Ye-Seo tells Seo-Jin that Woo-Joo is innocent. Seo-Jin tells Ye-Seo that she will meet many guys who are even more handsome when she goes to university.
