This is the recap of Romance is a Bonus Book Korean Drama Episode 2, Dan-Yi gets hired in Eun-Ho’s company. He thinks she is too dowdy, so he takes her to his ex-girlfriend’s shop and gets the clothes for her. But she refuses him to drive her home as she doesn’t want him to find out that she has been living in his house.

Dan-Yi claims that she will do her very best with a grateful heart, when she is questioned. Eun-Ho realizes something must be happening to Dan-Yi, and asked her to get in his car. He tries to contact Dong-Min, but he doesn’t pick up his phone. He drives her to her house and knows she lost her house.

Eun-Ho asks Dan-Yi and calls Dong-Min as bastard. But she doesn’t him to call her husband like that because she loved him. Eun-Ho remember he met Dong-Min with Dan-Yi in the cafe. Dong-Min was rude, and Eun-Ho was curious why she loved the douchebag. So he decided not to fall in love.

Dan-Yi shares that her husband went abroad with a woman, and she has to earn a living. He asks her not to waste her degree, but she says that the company won’t hire a woman who returns after a career break. They says the world has changed while She lazed around at home. Dan-Yi claims she never got to laze around, and shares she makes breakfast, lunch and dinner, and washes dishes, and fills up the fridge. She mentions she cleans the toilet. But the interviewers don’t count it as experience.

She says, “It taught me to be patient, devoted and considerate. I also learned how desperate I am to rebuild my career.” She mentions there is no age limit in Task Support Team. But Eun-Ho tells her to choose the low-paying contract position. Dan-Yi doesn’t want to keep living like that since she is still young. He feels sorry, but she thinks he has done more than enough since he loaned money to her husband.

Just then the reporter Jo Yeong-Ju calls Eun-Ho, he realizes he has an interview. So Dan-Yi leaves. Seo-Joon is cooking noodles and goes to cut Dan-Yi’s spring onions, “Mr. Spring Onion, it’ll hurt for a few seconds.” Eun-Ho worries about Dan-Yi and keeps texting her. But she never replies.

Yeong-Ju asks Eun-Ho how he first met Jae-Min during the interview.

10 years ago.

When Eun-Ho is reading a book in the library, the girl rushes to him and reveals a weird guy is looking for him. He sees Jae-Min who dresses up like a thug. Jae-Min is close to Eun-Ho and recognizes him with his book. But Eun-Ho denies it and leaves.

Jae-Min doesn’t give up and follows Eun-Ho to the playground. He offers him the lifetime contract of editor position in his company. But Eun-Ho finds out there is only one man in the company, and Jae-Min is moving the table when Eun-Ho visits. Jae-Min is confident to keep Eun-Ho with benefit of founding member.

Yeong-Ju mentions critics think Eun-Ho’s writing style changed because of Jae-Min, but he claims he was a Korean literature major in university. She agrees that Jae-Min’s company became the established publishing firm because of Eun-Ho. She mentions the author Kang Byeong-Jun’s disappearance. But he gets a call, and asks to wrap up the interview. Yeong-Ju complains that all of people at the company get super sensitive whenever they’re asked about Byeong-Jun.

Dan-Yi texts Eun-Ho and says that she will be his housekeeper until she lands a proper job. Jae-Min walks in and sees the founding members are talking about something, he thinks they’re playing games to decide who will pay for late-night snacks. But the employee reveals they’re deciding who will call the new hires. Ji-Hong is excited because the winner is him. But Jae-Min takes the list and thinks he should take care of the laborious task since he is the president.

Ji-Hong lost his chance, but he still says what he wants to say, “Dear Appliant! We’re pleased to offer you a position at Gyeoroo.” Young-A shakes him, “My gosh, thank you so much. I’m over the moon!” Eun-Ho follows Jae-Min to the office, and takes the resumes from him. He picks up Dan-Yi’s resume, and Jae-Min says that he insisted on hiring her because what she wrote is so touching.

“Dear Kang Dan-Yi. We’ve already spent 37 years together. But you see, I still don’t know you that well, so I plan to get to know more about tou starting now. I know you’ve done your best, but I’m sorry I didn’t value you enough. I’m sorry I mistreated you, and I’m sorry I let you feel small. I’m really sorry I’ve made you work so hard. It must’ve been hard for you. You must’ve wanted to cry. But you’ve held out with a smile. I want you to be happy from now on. Forget about yesterday and live for today. Every day, only think about your future. What do you want to do? And what do you like? Find the answers again.”

Jae-Min thinks people like Dan-Yi are good workers. But Eun-Ho just says, “Everything’s grammatically correct.” Jae-Min thinks Eun-Ho doesn’t have heart, and calls Ji-Yool, telling her that she passed the final interview. Ji-Yool is kissing a man in the bar, and she isn’t interested in it. So he lies that she is planning to go on a trip with her mom. But he tells her to work tomorrow.

Park Hoon runs into his ex Eun-Jeong at the street, and she sees his resume he just dropped. She thinks he still didn’t get the job. So he lies that he works for a public corporation. But she finds out he works in a convenience store. So he complains to Jae-Min why he didn’t call him one minute earlier. Jae-Min calls Dan-Yi and informs her that she passed the interview. She keeps thanking him, and it’s what he likes to hear. But she says power pose, so he thinks she is a psycho. She tears up and wants to treat the ladies yogurt.

Eun-Ho tells Hae-Rin that she left her clothes at his place. She realizes that she forgot to take her laundry out of the washing machine. He blames her for leaving behind her bra. Dan-Yi runs to upstairs when Eun-Ho returns, and texts him that she got accepted when peeking him. He texts her, “That has nothing to do with me. We’re strangers at work. Don’t act like you know me, and don’t expect help from me. Stop working at my house. And get me a new housekeeper.” But he congratulates her to get the job when she is going to sleep.

She tells him that she made the deonjang stew, and he smiles when seeing the food. The next day, when Eun-Ho is taking a shower, Dan-Yi goes downstairs and steals his bread. She dances at the street, Seo-Joon recognizes her when he is walking dog. Park Hoon runs into Dan-Yi at the company, and tells her not to be nervous since they’re recruits. When they get in the elevator, Ji-Yool shows up. Park Hoon is happy when he knows she is a recruit as well. But he mistakes to treat Hae-Rin as recruit, and tells others Hae-Rin is the second witch, and her nickname is Ice Queen.

Ji-Yool wonders who is the first witch, Hae-Rin says it’s Yoo-Sun. Hae-Rin gives the business cards to the recruits, and introduces herself as the person in charge of training the new recruits. She says, “One of you will resign in less than a month. After three months, another person will resign, saying that they wish to study more. After a year, there will be less than half of you, even though you worked so hard to get hired.”

The employee stares at Dan-Yi and thinks she is dowdy and her style is outdated. But Eun-Ho claims Dan-Yi is totally his type, and reminds the employee, “Do we have the draft for Ms. Kang’s prose poems?” The employee flees to complete her task. Dan-Yi takes out her business card, and remembers the lady Ji-Young asked for her business. But Dan-Yi didn’t have it because she quit her job to take care of her kid.

Dan-Yi runs into Eun-Ho at bus stop, and she is upset when he wants to visit her place. She explains that her place is mess, and he asks her to get in his car. But she runs away, so he drives to chase her. She gives her business car to him, and runs away again. He stares at her business card, and remembers the employee thought Dan-Yi is a bit dowdy. So he calls Na-Gyeong and asks her if her shop is still open.

He takes Dan-Yi to Na-Gyeong’s shop, and she thinks he is dating Na-Gyeong. But Na-Gyeong says that they’re just friends, and one of them cheated. Dan-Yi says that she despises cheaters when Eun-Ho gets the clothes for her. Na-Gyeong admits she is the one who cheated on Eun-Ho. Dan-Yi is shocked and claims she has things to wear. Na-Gyeong shares that Everyone’s uncomfortable with having a junior colleague who’s older than them. She gives Dan-Yi the clothes that she cannot sell, and Eun-Ho thinks this is how Na-Gyeong will apologize for cheating on him. When Dan-Yi is trying on the clothes, Eun-Ho and Na-Gyeong talk about the discount.

Eun-Ho is intention to take Dan-Yi to the hair salon, but she thinks it’s not necessary. Na-Gyeong thinks just wearing new outfits won’t update Dan-Yi’s style, and reveals the owner is the person she is dating. So they head to the salon, and Na-Gyeong introduces her girlfriend Ju-Yeon to Dan-Yi.

Dan-Yi asks Eun-Ho if he loved Na-Gyeong since he let a girl steal his girlfriend. He shares she never gets emotional when he gets dumped. She asks him to drop her off on the way home, and says the landlady doesn’t allow her to bring men over.

Eun-Ho remembers Dan-Yi’s smiling when she tried on the clothes. He thinks she was pretty, and reads her questionnaire: What are you most proud of? Her answer is, “I saved a boy’s life when I was a senior in middle school. It put me a year behind in school, but I ended up with a good friend.”

Eun-Ho scored in his own team’s goal when he was still a child, and got scolded by the coach. He swung the ball to the street, and went to pick it up. But the car dashed to him. Dan-Yi saved him, but she was hurt badly. Eun-Ho visited Dan-Yi in the hospital, and she asked him to be her errand boy. So he brought book to her and read it together.

Eun-Ho hears someone broke the glass, and finds Dan-Yi in the kitchen when she is stealing his food. He realizes the person who steal the bread was her, and asks her if she has been living in his house.

Dan-Yi keeps living poor life even if she gets hired. The only one she can relies on is Eun-Ho. But he feels uncomfortable when she is his housekeeper. But she doesn’t care. Because she has to earn the money for her kid’s academy fee and her medical bills.

He still gets angry to her for marrying a punk, so he punishes himself to date different girls, even if he doesn’t love them. Because she makes him lose the confidence on love. I thinks the problem is that he never confesses his feeling to her, so that she accepts another man since they knew each other when they were children. So he shouldn’t blame her and punish himself. Since they’re singles and work in the same workplace, they should begin a love relationship and gets married.
