This is the recap for Pyramid Game: Episode 1. The girl holds a knife to protect herself in the classroom when she faces other girls. She tries to rush to the girl. But Ja-Eun stops her. The girl uses her knife to cut Ja-Eun’s neck. Ja-Eun’s neck begins to bleed. The girl screams.
The Real Bully
Note: From here on out there are specific plot spoilers for Pyramid Game: Episode 1.
Soo-Ji arrives at the school. The teacher is going to punish Soo-Ji for her late. But she doesn’t know who she is. Soo-Ji reveals she’s a transfer student. But the teacher thinks Soo-Ji shouldn’t be late even if she’s a transfer student.
Soo-Ji mentions what her homeroom teacher told her to come by 8: 10 am. But we know it’s a lie. The teacher lets Soo-Ji pass. The girl Woo-Yi bumps Soo-Ji in the school. She apologizes to her after she found out that she stepped on her shoe.
She tells her that the teacher’s office is on the 4th floor. She runs away. Soo-Ji goes to the teacher’s office. The teacher gives the name tag to her. He tells her not to lose the name tag. He takes her to the classroom. She introduces herself to the students. She wishes to be their friends.
But the students are cold to her. She walks to her seat. She thinks she should avoid the losers and the bullies. She wakes the desk-mate Ja-Eun up. She sees the wounds on her body. The teacher tells the students to study hard. He leaves.
Soo-Ji apologizes to Ja-Eun. But Ja-Eun is cold to her. Ha-Rin comes to greet Soo-Ji. She reveals she worked in the orphanage where Soo-Ji lived. Soo-Ji is very happy. But Ja-Eun is furious to leave the classroom. The girl thinks Ha-Rin is pretty.
But Ha-Rin disagrees. She thinks Ye-Rim is more prettier than her. Soo-Ji takes a look at Ye-Rim. She waves at her. The class president Do-A asks the girls to go to the music room. Soo-Ji goes to the music room with the girls. The girls encourage Ye-Rim to sing.
Ye-Rim accepts the request. But Ja-Eun shows up. The teacher is unhappy when she sees Ja-Eun. But she still lets her have a seat. Ye-Rim sings a song. Soo-Ji learns that the girl is the school idol. She leaves the classroom and she goes to the convenience store.
She receives messages from her friends who wish to visit her. She leaves her name tag in the convenience store. She returns to the classroom. She chooses not to be close to Ja-Eun. Because she knows she will be hurt if she becomes her friend.
She goes to the cafeteria to have lunch with the classmates. She looks around the cafeteria. She’s surprised that there’re not the students from other classes. The girl tells Soo-Ji that she’s scared of Ja-Eun. But she sees them bullying Ja-Eun in the room.
Soo-Ji walks into the room after the girls left. She tells Ja-Eun to leave the school when she helps her. She sees the scar on her wrist. She realizes that she tried to kill herself. The girl returns. She finds out that Soo-Ji just helped Ja-Eun. She leaves.
Ja-Eun tells Soo-Ji to go to the classroom after knowing it’s Thursday. Soo-Ji goes to the classroom. She finds out that the classmates are waiting for her. Do-A walks to the podium. She asks Soo-Ji to take part in the Pyramid Game.
Soo-Ji agrees to take part in the game because she doesn’t wish to be bullied like Ja-Eun. But she gets F Grade because there’s nobody voting for her. She eats with her father. He asks her if she has any friend in the school. She tells a lie to him.
She thinks she will leave the school after three months. She comforts herself that she will be fine when she’s in the classroom. Da-Yeon asks Soo-Ji to do a hazing ritual because she has A Grade. But Soo-Ji rejects it. So Da-Yeon’s follower beats Soo-Ji.
The classmates choose to ignore it. Soo-Ji goes to the restroom. She finds out that there’s no mark on her body. She realizes that Da-Yeon intended to do it. She takes a look at the Pyramid Game app. She wonders why the students played the game.
The girls find out that Soo-Ji locked the door of the restroom. They intend to report it to Da-Yeon. Soo-Ji realizes that the girls played the game because they won’t feel guilty even if they do something bad. She returns to the classroom.
Da-Yeon whistles again. She claims that she’s Soo-Ji’s trainer. Episode 1 of Pyramid Game ends with Ha-Rin walking into the classroom when Soo-Ji is bullied. Soo-Ji realizes that the one who smoked was Ha-Rin. Ha-Rin smiles. Pyramid Game introduces Ha-Rin as A Grade student.
