In the third episode of Chinese drama Nothing Gold Can Stay, Zhou Ying enters Wu family and shows her talent in business. However, Master Wu Weiwen blames her for her dishonest.
Nothing Gold Can Stay Recap: Episode 3
After Du Mingli leaves Shen family, Shen Yuesheng thinks he is lobbyist from Wu family, but Shen Sihai thinks Wu family cannot drive him as his master is prince. He decides to attend the bid war even if he is destined to fail. Du Mingli lets his assistant send a letter to Beijing giving the order to Wu family no matter what bid Shen family is. Meanwhile, he sees Hu Yongmei walking out of silk shop.
Hu Yongmei gives Lady Zheng silk dresses which she bought it from silk shop. Lady Zheng very likes it. Hu Yongmei gives Wu Pin her works of calligraphy and lets him give her some suggestions. He praises her calligraphy. While she is going to drink eight treasure oil tea, he picks the almonds out as it’s not good for her stomach.
Zhou Ying (Sun Li) sends a student to inform Zhou Laosi she is in Wu family and offers him some money, but the student refuses her money.
A student cannot answer teacher’s question, Zhou Ying laughs at him. Teacher yells her that she doesn’t know anything. Zhou Ying tells Wu Pin she want to be a apprentice in his family, but he tells her there is precedent woman became apprentice. The servant reports to Shen Xingyi that he didn’t see Zhou Ying at Wu family’s eastern courtyard since he stayed there for 2 days. Shen Xingyi lets him keep watch on her.
The maid reports to Wu Pin (Peter Ho) that Zhou Ying broke a water tank, three flowerpots, two pans and a dozen dishes. He has to let Zhou Ying stay with him. However he sends her to apprentice room after finding she even couldn’t pour tea in the right way.
The apprentice makes fun of Zhou Ying doesn’t know the meaning of the a sentence of business book. However she shares her experience with apprentices. They think she knows business deeply. She requests money to share her experience. Teacher finds her charging money from apprentices and reports it to Wu Weiwen.
While teacher persuades Wu Weiwen to turn Zhou Ying out of Wu family, Wu Pin stops him and thinks she has talent in business. However, Wu Weiwen lets her to start packing after she suggests steward to replace the blood extract with rhododendrons. Because he cannot cheat.
Wu Weiwen yells at Zhou Ying and lets her kneel down before the photo of Guan Yu, telling her what is honest. Wu Pin is very happy and tells her his father accepts her as a apprentice and is going to teach her how to do business.
Wu family gets the order from prince, although their bid is higher than Shen family. Wu Pin suggests his father to share the order with Shen family to reduce their hostilities. Wu Weiwen accepts it.
Zhou Ying defeats Xiao Jiang in count competition. She accepts she fails as Wu Pin gave her hint. She wants to be a honest woman. Wu Pin tells her she is safe and can go outside, as he has negotiated with Shen family. Shen Xingyi gets angry as his older brother exchanged Zhou Ying without his permission.
