These are the Recap & Ending Explained for My Demon: Episode 1. We sees magic formation. It tells us that demons protect humans. A person runs on the road under the moon. She’s in the mist. She tells us that her life is shrouded in the mist.
Note: From here on out there are specific plot spoilers for My Demon: Episode 1.
We find out that the person who runs in the mist is a girl. She turns around when she runs. It seems that she’s chased by someone. She stops when she sees a man walking to her. She doesn’t know if he comes to help her. So she runs away.
We go to the church in the bamboo forest. It’s 200 years ago Joseon. Priest is taking the believers to pray to the god. He mentions the evil spirits bewitched the god’s followers. The person walks into the church. He puts his hand into the holy water.
The stone tablet tells people that the holy water can clean their sins. The person takes out a rose from the holy water. The candles are blown out. Priest lights one of the candle. The people see the blood on the wall and the man. They think he’s a demon. They’re scared to run out of the church.
The man tries to give the rose to the people. We see a black cross mark on his wrist. He walks to the stage and he puts the rose on the table. He shows his face. We find out that he was the one who chased the girl. His name is Gu-Won and the girl’s name is Do-Hee.
He takes a look at the cross and he tries to leave. But his face is hurt by someone. It bleeds. He touches his wound and he picks up the cross. We see a little boy. We learn that he used the cross to hurt Gu-Won. Priest returns to protect the kid.
Gu-Won walks to the kid. He returns the cross to him. His injury recovers. He leaves the church. He gets changed and he takes a look at the church. He tells us that humans’ enemies are evil spirits. He visits the fisherman Bok-Gyu by the sea.
He tells him that he knows he’s hungry. He lets the fish shine on the sea. Bok-Gyu sees it and he thinks Gu-Won is a goblin. But Gu-Won tells him that he’s a demon. Bok-Gyu sees a big fish rushing to him. It runs into his arms. He’s happy when he hugs the big fish.
Gu-Won takes out a contract. He tells Bok-Gyu that he can help him not hungry but he needs to go to hell after ten years. Bok-Gyu decides to sign the contract. Gu-Won takes out a goose feather pen. He stabs Bok-Gyu’s finger with the pen.
Bok-Gyu complains it to Gu-Won that it’s hurt. But he’s told that he needs to use his blood to sign the paper. He tells his name to Gu-Won and he signs the contract. Gu-Won tells us that he tricked the fisherman. He leaves. The fisherman is very happy after he saw the fish he got. He thanks the Buddha. Gu-Won thinks the fisherman thanked a wrong person. He burns the contract.
We go to a party. The party is about 2023 Korea CEO Awards. Do-Hee attends the party. She takes a drink. She gives the drink to the guy. It makes him mistake that she’s a part-timer. He realizes that she traded stocks then. He gives his business card to her. We learn that he works for an investment company.
He brags it to her that many people need his advice. But he agrees to let her cut in line. She sees him for the reason. He confesses it to her that he fell for her. He hands over his phone to her. He asks her for her number. He wishes to have dinner with her.
She gives her number to him and she tells him to call her secretary. She takes off her coat and she shows her black dress. She walks to the stage. The guy’s friend joins him. He thinks he was ambitious to hit on the princess of Mirae Group.
The guy’s wine drops after the guy knew Do-Hee’s identity. Do-Hee gives a speech. She smiles. But she’s cold after she saw the news about Mirae F&B. She returns the tablet to her secretary Da-Jeong and she thinks someone used a trick. Da-Jeong promises to look into it.
Do-Hee walks out of the hotel with Da-Jeong. She shows Cheon-Suk’s call to her. It seems that Cheon-Suk wants to arrange a blind date for Do-Hee. It makes Do-Hee doesn’t want to pick up Cheon-Suk’s phone. Da-Jeong persuades Do-Hee not to avoid it. So Do-Hee picks up the phone.
Cheon-Suk is in the hospital. She’s going to get her body checked. Do-Hee explains it to the madam that she needs to work. She wants to put the blind date a hold. Cheon-Suk threatens to put the checkup on hold. Do-Hee agrees to go to the blind date. She tells Cheon-Suk that she enjoys the date. Cheon-Suk lets the doctor do the checkup.
Do-Hee thinks she should stay at the restaurant like a doll for 30 minutes. She lets Da-Jeong go to drink somewhere. She leaves. Gu-Won walks down the clock power. He sees the clock stopping. He leaves the building. The man takes a bath in the saunas.
There’s a tiger tattoo on his back. We learn that his name is Deok-Ho. He’s the chief of a gang. The follower hands over the paper to Deok-Ho. He reports it to him that Mr. Kim signed the contract. Deok-Ho thinks Mr. Kim made a right decision.
The follower leaves the room. He lies on the couch to read a book when his followers serve him. Deok-Ho checks the hourglass. He finds out that it doesn’t work. Gu-Won shows up. He takes out the contact. He learns that Deok-Ho forgot the day.
Deok-Ho throws the hourglass to Gu-Won. Gu-Won holds the hourglass. Deok-Ho tries to open the door. But he fails. He tells Gu-Won that he wishes to extend their contract. He offers to sign a new contract. But Gu-Won only wants to have a beautiful goodbye with Deok-Ho.
Deok-Ho tries to hit Gu-Won with his head. But he hits the wall. The follower hears the sound inside the room. He takes a look at the room. He finds out that the boss is lying on the bench. He thinks he’s fine. Gu-Won tells Deok-Ho that he will die from a heart attack. He kills him and he leaves the hourglass. He leaves when Deok-Ho’s followers come to see Deok-Ho. The follower sees Gu-Won off. There’s one clock burned in Gu-Won’s office. It’s the soul of Deok-Ho.
Do-Hee walks into the restaurant. But the waiter informs her that they’re booked. She learns that there was a guy booking the restaurant. She’s surprised that Cheon-Suk told the guy about her birthday. She tells the waiter that she’s the guest of the male customer. He shows her the table.
She walks to the table and she sees a man reading the newspaper. The man is Gu-Won. She claims that she’s not interested in men. But she changes her mind after she found out that he’s very handsome. He claims that he’s not interested in her work.
She laughs to ask him if he knew her. He denies it. So she asks him about his manners. She tries to leave the place. But she receives a message from Cheon-Suk who asks her to hang in there. She gives herself 30 minutes to stay at the place.
She places her phone on the table and she has a seat. Gu-Won tells Do-Hee that he wishes to get the quiet meal because he booked the place. He persuades her to go to another restaurant. But she asks him to leave instead. The man is at another restaurant. He orders a wine from the waitress.
He puts his feet on the table and he’s reading Do-Hee’s resume. It seems that he’s a bad guy. We learn that Do-Hee lost her parents when she was 11 years old. Cheon-Suk raised her since then. Do-Hee is eating the steak with Gu-Won.
He plays the steak. It makes her think that he’s a kid. He glares at her. She laughs to tell him that she likes his youthful spirit. He wonders why she insists on eating with him because she doesn’t look poor. She claims that she stays there for being polite. But he thinks she’s rude.
She drops her knife and her fork. She thinks she’s like a mirror which reflects his rude. She persuades him to follow the orders from the above. She hands over her business car to him. She asks him for his business card. But he refuses to leak his personal information.
She tells him to work with her since they were forced to come there. He hands over his business card to her. He reveals his company supports the traditional singers and dancers when she’s not familiar with the institution. She’s surprised that he doesn’t know her as well.
She reveals it’s a blind date. It makes him believe that the God arranged the date. She laughs because she mistook that he called Cheon-Suk God. He laughs as well. Deok-Ho’s followers break into the restaurant when Do-Hee is going to leave because the time she set is up.
The waiter shows up with a cake. The follower pushes the cake to Do-Hee. Gu-Won protects Do-Hee. He hugs her when he holds the cake. They look at each other’s eyes. Do-Hee finds out that man is good even if he looks cold. He reminds her that they’re close.
She’s flustered to run to the restroom. He takes a look at his cake. He thinks his cake almost got ruined. He smiles. She’s in the restroom. She mistakes that he prepared a birthday for her. She takes a look at her dress. She finds out that her dress was stained by the cream.
Gu-Won is going to eat the cake. But Deok-Ho’s follower knocks over the cake. He asks Gu-Won who sent him to kill their boss. But Gu-Won stops the thug. He asks him to let him taste the cake first. Because he had booked the place for one month.
But the thug ruins the cake. Do-Hee cleans her dress. She remembers Gu-Won hugged her. She mistakes that he fell for her. She remembers he thought she made him nervous then. She’s very happy. She looks herself in the mirror. She finds out that she’s blushing. She puts the makeup on her face.
Gu-Won holds the newspaper. He thinks the thug is a trash. The thug lets another thug beat Gu-Won. But Gu-Won locks the thug into his news papers. He locks up all of the thugs. Do-Hee is ready for the date. She applies the lipstick on her lips.
Gu-Won complains that those thugs ruined his dessert time. Do-Hee returns. She thinks she should stay there even if she’s busy. But she finds out that Gu-Won ate the cake. She laughs and she thinks he shouldn’t eat her birthday cake.
But he tells her that he didn’t buy her the cake. He asks her to leave. She asks him to be polite to her if he gets the chance to see her again. She leaves the restaurant. Gu-Won goes the the restroom. He releases the thugs. Do-Hee is in the car.
She blames Cheon-Suk for arranging the bad guy for her. She asks Da-Jeong if she finds out who was behind the article. Da-Jeong leaks that the person was Su-Ahn who belongs to Mirae Apparel. Do-Hee wonders why those people didn’t forgive her since she wishes to get a peaceful life. The car stops. She sees the big screen on the building. The screen plays the news about Mirae Group. It reveals the group has a internal power struggle. We learn that Mirae Kingdom was created by Cheon-Suk.
It flashes back to one year ago. The family attends Cheon-Suk’s birthday party. Someone offers to begin to take photo since all of the family came. But Cheon-Suk refuses to take family phone since Do-Hee doesn’t come. Do-Hee shows up when Cheon-Suk decides to leave. She joins her and she notes that she’s not happy. She persuades her to smile. She reveals the family doesn’t like her because she’s not related to them. They use a fake smile as their weapons. They wish to get the throne.
We return to the present. Do-Hee gets a call from Tae-Jun who’s the head of Mirae Group’s financial team. The guy is in the restroom. He tells Do-Hee that he’s going to share an important information to her. He refuses to leak it over the phone. But he tells her that the information can help her be the queen of Mirae Group. He asks her to contact him.
Do-Hee hangs up. She thinks everyone tried to take her to get into the dogfight. She asks Da-Jeong to go to find out Su-Ahn’s schedule. She receives a message from Cheon-Suk who tells her to see her in the heaven. Do-Hee runs to the hospital.
She finds out that the madam lies in the bed. She runs to her and she tries to wake her up. She holds her hand and she cries. She asks her not to leave her. But Cheon-Suk wakes up. She’s eating something. She thinks it was a drama.
Do-Hee gets angry and she tries to leave after she realized that she was fooled by Cheon-Suk. Cheon-Suk stops Do-Hee. Do-Hee yells at Cheon-Suk that she was shocked. But Cheon-Suk thinks she’s old to die. Do-Hee reminds Cheon-Suk that the liars cannot go to the heaven.
Cheon-Suk reveals she bribed the God. Do-Hee has a seat. She thinks Cheon-Suk did it for a reason. Cheon-Suk is happy to bring the birthday present to Do-Hee. She mentions she did the birthday for her since Do-Hee never did it. She takes out the birthday cake from the box. She mentions Do-Hee ran away from the college. Do-Hee talks back that she did it because Cheon-Suk appeared from the limo.
Do-Hee walked out of the school building with her classmates. Cheon-Suk showed up in the limo with some flowers. She called Do-Hee. But Do-Hee fled. Cheon-Suk explains it to Do-Hee that she didn’t wish others to look down on her.
But Do-Hee mentions Cheon-Suk made her boyfriend break up with her with money. Cheon-Suk explains it to Do-Hee that she didn’t like the guy’s vibe. Do-Hee’s boyfriend was studying in the library. Cheon-Suk threw the money to him. She thought he knows what she means. Do-Hee showed up with a cup of coffee. She saw what Cheon-Suk did.
Do-Hee mentions Cheon-Suk gave the gift vouchers to the guy. Cheon-Suk asks Do-Hee about the blind date. Do-Hee reveals the blind date is horrible. Cheon-Suk persuades Do-Hee not to judge a person according to his looks. But she’s told that looks were all the things the guy had.
