Who Kills Old Moon Emperor?
Note: From here on out there are specific plot spoilers for Love Between Fairy and Devil: Episode 17.
But Shang Que tells Orchid that the book was burned into ashes. She holds the candle and tries to get into Old Moon Emperor’s palace. Shang Que stops her and tells her that Dongfang Qingcang ordered to kill the person who gets into Old Moon Emperor’s palace.
Jie Li tells Orchid to go back because she thinks the book has been ashes. Shang Que tells Orchid that Dongfang Qingcang will kill her even if he cares for her very much. Because Old Moon King is the painful origin of Dongfang Qingcang.

Orchid thinks she needs to find the truth to cure Dongfang Qingcang’s sleeping illness. She tells Jie Li and Shang Que to leave. Jie Li tells Shang Que to stop Orchid. But he joins Orchid. Jie Li thinks Shang Que and Orchid are insane.
It flashes back. Dongfang Qingcang plays the zither. The lady praises him. She thinks Moon Emperor will like it. But Moon Emperor throws away the zither. He blames Dongfang Qingcang for wasting his time. Dongfang Qingcang tells Moon Emperor that the ice zither is the present he sculpted for him.
But Moon Emperor tells Dongfang Qingcang that he doesn’t need the present. He catches the lady who taught him sculpting. He tells the guards to kill Lady Wu and the girls. Lady Wu wipes off Dongfang Qingcang’s tear. She’a taken away. Dongfang Qingcang is furious to put his blade on Moon Emperor’s neck. But he cannot kill his father. Moon Emperor takes off Dongfang Qingcang’s blade. He beats him because he wants him to learn hellfire.
Dongfang Qingcang arrives at Fuju Cave. He gets into the statue. Jie Li thinks the book isn’t in the palace after knowing Shang Que didn’t find the book. She tells Orchid to leave with her. Orchid searches the grave of Old Moon Emperor. She finds the box. She opens the box and sees the ashes. Orchid thinks she can fix the book after knowing it was made by wood.
It flashes back. Dongfang Qingcang stays in the statue. He tells Moon Emperor to kill him because he cannot bear it. Moon Emperor tears up. He tells Dongfang Qingcang that he cannot leave the statue if he cannot get rid of his emotion.
Moon Emperor asks Dongfang Qingcang if he forgets the emotion of men and women. Dongfang Qingcang tells Moon Emperor that he only remembers to ruin Water Cloud Heaven. Moon Emperor praises Dongfang Qingcang. Dongfang Qingcang defeats Moon Emperor. He becomes the new moon emperor. Old Moon Emperor tries to stab Dongfang Qingcang. He’s killed by him.
Love Between Fairy and Devil: Episode 17 Ending
Episode 17 of Love Between Fairy and Devil ends with Orchid telling Old Moon Emperor that his son let her come. He asks her if Dongfang Qingcang ruined Immortal Realm. She shows the zither to him. She asks him if he fixed the zither. He confesses that he felt sad for ruining the gift.
