This is the recap for K-Drama Jirisan: Episode 1. Hyun-Jo arrives at the Haedong Branch Office. He gets off the cab with his luggage. He stares at the sky, seeing a helicopter flying away. He opens the door and walks into the house.
Jirisan: Episode 1 Recap

Hyun-Jo sees some guys running out of the house. He knocks at the door of Dae-Jin’s office. He tells him that he’s the newbie who was sent there. Dae-Jin tells Hyun-Jo to team up with Goo-Young. Hyun-Jo goes to see Goo-Young. Goo-Young throws a pair of shoes to him. He runs away.
Hyun-Jo gets into Goo-Young’s car. He wears the shoes he just gave him. Dae-Jin takes out a microphone. He tells the rangers about their goal the missing kid Seung-Hun. He asks them for finding the boy in a short period of time. Goo-Young parks his car in Jirisan. He begins to run. Hyun-Jo follows him.
The ranger climbs the cliff. He’s hit by a rock. Yi-Gang shows up. She catches the ranger and cuts off the rope before the rock hits them. The ranger is carried away by another ranger. Yi-Gang takes off her equipment. Hyun-Jo hands over the water to her. He introduces himself to her.
Goo-Young shows up. He tells Yi-Gang to team up with Hyun-Jo since her team member was hurt. Yi-Gang tells Hyun-Jo that she will give up him if he’s not useful. He follows her. The rangers look for Seung-Hun around Jirisan. But they don’t find the kid. Dae-Jin watches the TV. He’s told that there will be raining.
Yi-Gang climbs Jirisan. Hyun-Jo follows her. Goo-Young arrives at the peak. He calls the kid’s name. But he doesn’t get any respond. So he takes out a telescope, trying to look for the missing boy. But he fails. Yi-Gang arrives at another peak of Jirisan. Hyun-Jo is tired to reach Yi-Gang. He tells her that the kid isn’t there. She ignores him and reports to Dae-Jin that she doesn’t find the boy.
Hyun-Jo asks Yi-Gang where is the place they’re going to go. He’s told that the places they went are suicide points. She admits it. It makes him think that Seung-Hun is dead. She scolds him and tells him that they intend to save the boy. She’s furious to walk away. He smiles.
It’s raining. The follower reports to Dae-Jin that they sent out the dogs but the animals cannot do their jobs in the rain. Woong-Soon knocks at the door and brings Seung-Hun’s grandmother to Dae-Jin. The old woman hands over the milk to Dae-Jin. She keeps bowing to him to express her apology. He comforts her that he will inform it to her once they find her grandson. He gets Yang-Sun to take the old woman away.
Il-Hae walks in the woods. He encounters the flood which makes him and his team member not move. He has to give up his task. Goo-Young walks through the bamboo bridge in the rope’s help. But the team member falls into the water after he got hit by the flood. Goo-Young reports it to Dae-Jin.
Yi-Gang and Hyun-Jo pass through the rock. Yi-Gang throws away her sticks. She throws Hyun-Jo’s sticks when he’s confused. She tells him that they’re going to step in the lightning area so that those sticks will hurt them. She points at the path, telling him that the path will help them shorten the route. She tells him not to be close to the big tree. She walks away.
Hyun-Jo is hit by the lightning. He trips and sees Yi-Gang running away. He tries to follow her but he rolls over from the rock. She shows up behind him, asking him if he was hurt. He points at the bag to her. She thinks the bag belongs to Seung-Hun. So she reports it to Dae-Jin.
Hyun-Jo takes out a photo from the bag. He hands over the photo to Yi-Gang. She takes a look at the photo, and recognizes the place Seung-Hun wanted to go. She wants to go there to save Seung-Hun. But Gye-Hee is against it because he thinks Seung-Hun passed away. He reminds her that her life is very important as well.
Yi-Gang decides to get back to the office. Hyun-Jo tries to persuade her. He fails and she walks away. He sees something but he gets hit by the wood. He passes out. She runs to him.
Hyun-Jo wakes up. He’s startled by Goo-Young when he talks with him. Goo-Young tells Hyun-Jo that he’s not dead. He praises him for making Yi-Gang be kindness. Hyun-Jo asks about Yi-Gang. But he has a headache. Goo-Young tells Hyun-Jo to only care for himself.
Il-Hae blames Goo-Young for teaching the bad thing to Hyun-Jo. He reminds Hyun-Jo the duty as a ranger. Goo-Young doesn’t want to hear such words. He chooses not to face Il-Hae. Il-Hae is furious to kick Goo-Young. Yi-Gang sighs after she took a look at Seung-Hun’s photo. Dae-Jin agrees to Gye-Hee’s plan. He intends to inform it to the old woman.
Dae-Jin gets a call from someone who asks him a boring question. He tells the answer to him. He leaves the office. Hyun-Jo walks into the office. Yi-Gang tells him to improve his body level. She tries to leave. He tells her that the kid is alive. But she needs to evidence to make the decision. So he reads the note Seung-Hun left.
It flashes back. Seung-Hun tries to write down something on the notebook. His arm was hurt. It seems that he got bullied at the school. He takes a look at his grandma who falls asleep. He tears up and asks for a help.
Yeom Seung-Hun’s grandmother cries when she holds the phone. Yi-Gang tells the old woman that they have to end their task. Yi-Gang wears the raincoat to walk in the rain. She climbs Jirisan with the shovel. She arrives at the peak. Hyun-Jo greets her. She stares at him.
Yi-Gang scolds Hyun-Jo for tailing her. She thinks he’s insane. He tells her that he’s like her who wants to save the kid. He points out that she cannot complete the task alone. She ties him with chain, and prepares to die with him if the bad thing happens to them. He agrees to it. He follows her.
Dae-Jin notes that the rangers want to leave the house. He stops them and scolds them for ignoring Gye-Hee. He asks them to take off the equipment. But Goo-Young tells Dae-Jin that Yi-Gang and Hyun-Jo went to save the kid. Dae-Jin gets angry. Yeom Seung-Hun’s grandmother shows the message to Dae-Jin.
Yi-Gang walks in the woods with Hyun-Jo. They arrives at the flower sea. Yi-Gang gets a call from Dae-Jin who asks her if she’s on the way to save Seung-Hun. She admits it. So he tells her that the kid sent a new message to his grandmother.
It flashes back. Seung-Hun goes to Jirisan. He arrives at the flower sea. He takes photos of the flowers. He tries to send the photos to his grandma. But there’s no signal.
Dae-Jin tells Yi-Gang that the there’re signals at the place Seung-Hun stays. He adds that the boy doesn’t pick up phone, and thinks something happened to Seung-Hun. He asks her for finding the kid. Yi-Gang asks Hyun-Jo for looking for signal place. She tells him that their goal is the survival point.
Dae-Jin tells the two the the boy is sick when they look for Seung-Hun in the rain. Seung-Hun cries and tries to call his grandma. The rain falls to the phone. The phone is out of power. The rain stops. Hyun-Jo reports to Yi-Gang that he doesn’t find the kid after he tried his best. She doesn’t want to give up.

Hyun-Jo sees something. He goes to see Yi-Gang and asks her about it. It reminds her the place she knows. He thinks the kid stays there, asking her for giving it a try before they leave. The two throw the ropes from the cliff. They climb down the cliff with the help of the ropes.
Hyun-Jo arrives at the cave. He takes away the branches, walking into the cave. He irradiates the inside with the flashlight. He calls Yi-Gang when she’s going to walk away. She runs to join him, seeing Seung-Hun who lies on the ground and takes the phone.
Yi-Gang reports to Dae-Jin that they made it. But she tells him that the kid’s physical condition is very bad. The old woman hears it, praying God to save her grandson. Hyun-Jo carries the kid to walk when Yi-Gang opens the path for him. They run into Il-Hae and Goo-Young.
Il-Hae takes over the kid from Hyun-Jo. He lets the kid ride on his back. Dae-Jin and the old woman are waiting for Seung-Hun. The old woman worries about her grandson. Il-Hae is tired when he carries the kid. Goo-Young takes over the kid. He carries him to run through the bamboo bridge.
Il-Hae calls Dae-Jin. The doctor takes over Seung-Hun and puts him into the ambulance. He finds out that the kid is alive. He drives the ambulance away. Il-Hae reports it to Yi-Gang when he lies on the rock with Hyun-Jo. She opens her eyes and enjoys the sunrise.
Goo-Young throws the water to Il-Hae. Dae-Jin takes a look at them and praises them. He’s told that Yi-Gang almost died. He calls Yi-Gang and praises her. But she turns off the intercom. Hyun-Jo notes it. He turns off his intercom as well. She closes her eyes, and falls asleep.
Hyun-Jo climbs Jirisan. It makes him tired after he reached the peak. Yi-Gang is waiting for him. She thinks he’s too weak. He doesn’t have the power to talk back. He sits on the rock. She reminds him that the people are waiting for him because they want him to save them. She scolds him after he told her that he forgot the details of Jirisan.
Hyun-Jo takes away the water from Yi-Gang. He tells her that he wants to have it before he passes away. He gets a call from someone who tells her that they have a new task. The man arrives at the peak. He helps his girlfriend reach the peak after he held her hand. They walk away.
Yi-Gang wonders why the two showed off their love at the peak. Hyun-Jo asks Yi-Gang for holding his hand when he’s out of breath. She holds his hand and orders him to follow her. She drags him to go down Jirisan. The ranger takes a photo of the cave. He asks Yi-Gang how she knew the place. She tells him that it was found by Hyun-Jo.
The ranger asks Hyun-Jo how he knew the place. Hyun-Jo reveals Jirisan leaked it to him. The ranger thinks it was a miracle. Hyun-Jo agrees to what the ranger said. He thinks Jirisan helped Seung-Hun. Yi-Gang ends their talk. She asks the ranger to explain what happened to her. He thinks the stuff in the cave sent a signal to Hyun-Jo. He hands over his business card to Hyun-Jo. He walks away.
Hyun-Jo returns to the cave, taking a look at the stuff the guy mentioned. He tells Yi-Gang to take a look at the rock, and tries to explain to her how the rock sent the signal. But she takes away his flashlight, and asks him how he knew the kid hid in the cave. He’s serious to tell her that he saw the missing hikers. But she doesn’t believe in what he said. She leaves the cave. He follows her.
Dae-Jin takes the class for the rangers. Goo-Young asks Dae-Jin for hiring new ranger but he doesn’t want the newbie like Da-Won. Dae-Jin tells Goo-Young there will be a new ranger who will join them. He adds that she’s good at finding missing hikers. Yi-Gang arrives at Haedong Branch Office.
