Family by Choice Episode 6 Recap: Good Sister

This is the recap for Family by Choice: Episode 6. Jung-Jae finds out Hae-Joon’s mother visited him. He tries to contact Hae-Joon. But Seo-Hyun stops him. Because she doesn’t wish her son to know that she came. She places an envelope on the table.

Family by Choice: Episode 6

Seo-Hyun takes a look at the family photos on the wall. She learns that her son loves the adoptive father very much. Jung-Jae checks the envelope. He sees some cash inside the envelope. He finds out that it’s more than the cash he lent to Seo-Hyun. She asks him to accept the money because the money is for Hae-Joon’s university. She leaves his restaurant.

Jung-Jae stops Seo-Hyun outside the restaurant. He returns the money to her since she doesn’t plan to see the kid. What happened to Seo-Hyun? She was a sunny lady. But she’s changed. Hae-Joon and Joo-Won are on the way home. Hae-Joon sees his mother getting in a cab.

San-Ha dries clothes on the rooftop. He lies on the table to enjoy the morning. Hae-Joon and Joo-Won approach San-Ha. They wake him up with the ice cream. Hae-Joon notes that the phone is ringing. San-Ha picks up the phone. He learns that So-Hee came to see him. He goes to look for his sister. He asks Jung-Jae to take care of So-Hee if she comes to the restaurant.

So-Hee is in the cab. She takes a look at the cash in her wallet. San-Ha, Joo-Won and Hae-Joon are anxious to look for the little girl outside. So-Hee is outside the store. The store owner comforts So-Hee that the police are going to take her to see her mother. But So-Hee wishes to see her older brother. Dae-Wook arrives with the cop. He recognizes So-Hee until San-Ha calls him.

Dae-Wook takes So-Hee back to Jung-Jae’s restaurant. So-Hee sees San-Ha. She’s happy to run to him. She hugs him. But he scolds her and he thinks she was lucky. Joo-Won explains it to So-Hee that San-Ha worried about her. Jung-Hee shows up.

She scolds her daughter and she tries to take her away. But So-Hee refuses to leave. Jung-Hee has a fight with San-Ha. She thinks he killed her sister. Dae-Wook drags her out of the restaurant. He thinks she was the one who killed her daughter. So-Hee cries in Jung-Jae’s arms.

San-Ha walks alone the street. Joo-Won follows him when she asks him where he’s going to go. Hae-Joon persuades Joo-Won to give San-Ha some time. Dae-Wook takes Jung-Hee to the beach. He thinks it was their mistake. He asks her not to give San-Ha a hard time. Because San-Ha is their kid as well.

San-Ha returns home. He just cried. Joo-Won and Hae-Joon are on the rooftop. Joo-Won complains it to Hae-Joon that Jung-Hee is a terrible mother. San-Ha wakes up early. He goes to the school alone. Joo-Won has breakfast with her family. She worries about San-Ha because he left without eating.

San-Ha falls asleep in the classroom. Hae-Joon finds San-Ha. He puts the fruits on the desk. Joo-Won visits San-Ha with the food. But he’s not in the classroom. San-Ha is on the way home. Hae-Joon waits for San-Ha at the bus stop. He persuades him not to skip the breakfast.

Joo-Won visits San-Ha again with the breakfast. He’s not in the classroom again. Joo-Won has a talk with Park Dal. She finds out that Park Dal worried about San-Ha. She mentions Park Dal had feelings for Hae-Joon. San-Ha returns to the classroom with the food. He sees the food Joo-Won left. He smiles.

It’s raining. San-Ha doesn’t take umbrella. He goes to the store to by umbrella. But the umbrellas were sold out. Joo-Won is watching TV in the living room. She takes a look at the rain. She calls San-Ha. But he turned off his phone.

San-Ha runs home. He’s soaked. Joo-Won hands over the umbrella to him. She asks him to come to eat. He yells at her that he avoided them because they witnessed him having a fight with his mother. He walks into the house with her. He takes a look at the wet umbrella. Hae-Joon reveals Joo-Won went to the bus stop to look for San-Ha.

Joo-Won scolds Hae-Joon because she doesn’t wish San-Ha to know it. Jung-Jae places the tofu on the table. Joo-Won asks San-Ha to eat the tofu. She claims that the fried eggs belong to her. He tastes the tofu. He cries. His father comforts him.

The three kids go to the rooftop. San-Ha reveals he missed his dead sister. Joo-Won claims that she misses her mother as well. San-Ha points out that Joo-Won doesn’t know what her mother looks like. She reveals she saw her mother’s photos.

She says that she didn’t reveal she misses her mother because she didn’t wish her father to be sad. San-Ha realizes that his father missed his sister as well. Hae-Joon reveals he misses his mother. But Joo-Won mocks him because he’s 19 years old.

Jung-Jae is cleaning the kitchen. He tries to take out the letter from the cabinet. But Joo-Won breaks into the kitchen. She informs her father that San-Ha is sick. Dae-Wook takes care of San-Ha. San-Ha calls his sister. Dae-Wook remembers what his ex-wife said that San-Ha needs So-Hee. He realizes what she said is right.

San-Ha wakes up in the morning after he recovered. He sees the medicine on the table. He walks out of his room. He runs into Dae-Wook. Dae-Wook learns that his son recovered. He tells him to get dressed. He takes him to see his dead sister So-Jeong.

San-Ha comforts his father that his mother’s words won’t bother him. Dae-Wook tells his son that So-Jeong’s death wasn’t his mistake. He persuades him to accept his new sister So-Hee. San-Ha agrees to it. He offers to come to see So-Jeong together next year. Dae-Wook agrees to it as well.

Hae-Joon runs alone the beach. San-Ha studies in his room. He opens the window. He enjoys the new beginning. Hae-Joon hits the ceiling with a stick. He informs San-Ha that the breakfast is ready. San-Ha comes downstairs. He eats with his family. Hae-Joon is happy after he received a baby photo from his aunt. Yi-Hyun just gave a birth.

Joo-Won, San-Ha and Hae-Joon go to the school. Joo-Won reveals Park Dal’s mother is going to buy them a meal. But San-Ha thinks nothing is free. He asks Joo-Won for the reason. Park Dal got a bad grade. Her mother scolded her. She learned that she didn’t get San-Ha’s notes. So she offered to buy Joo-Won and San-Ha a meal.

Joo-Won, San-Ha and Hae-Joon go to the restaurant. San-Ha mentions Park Dal’s mother is only interested in him. But Joo-Won and Hae-Joon have no shame to stay at the restaurant for the delicious steak. They join Park Dal and her mother.

Park Dal cannot order the food well. Her mother shames her. She thinks her daughter can do nothing well. Park Dal waits for her mother outside. She thinks she shouldn’t shame her in front of her friends. Park Dal’s mother explains it to Park Dal that she looked down on her for helping her get the notes. Park Dal cries because her mother made her look stupid.

Park Dal’s mother leaves the restaurant. Hae-Joon thinks Park Dal has a bad relationship with her mother. Joo-Won kicks Hae-Joon. The kids go to the beach. Joo-Won and Hae-Joon run to the sea. They have fun there. San-Ha gives his note to Park Dal. He tells her to join Hae-Joon and Joo-Won because they came to the beach for making her feel better.

She claims that she’s fine. She thinks what her mother said is right. He tells her to treat her mother as a human. Hae-Joon and Joo-Won catch the seaweed. They’re happy to show San-Ha and Park Dal the seaweed. Hae-Joon takes a look at San-Ha and Park Dal. She laughs to tell Joo-Won that Park Dal has feelings for San-Ha. Joo-Won is furious to throw the seaweed to the fool.

Hae-Joon receives a message from his aunt. He comes to the hospital to see Yi-Hyun. The nurse reveals Hae-Joon’s mother visited Yi-Hyun. Jung-Jae meets with Dae-Wook at the restaurant. Jung-Jae reveals Seo-Hyun visited him with the money. Dae-Wook persuades Jung-Jae to accept the money. He thinks he deserves it.

Hae-Joon witnesses it outside the restaurant. He cries because he regrets for not paying Jung-Jae back. Joo-Won walks San-Ha on the beach. She thinks Hae-Joon was stupid not to know Park Dal has feelings for him.
