In the 13-14th episodes of Ever Night Chinese Drama Recap, Ning Que kills the murderers who murdered his family, but the rosefinch wakes to attack him. Yu Lian refuses to save him for her promise. Chen Pipi saves Ning Que with the pill of heaven on the end.
Ever Night Chinese Drama Recap: Episode 13
Note: From here on out there are specific plot spoilers for Ever Night Chinese Drama Episodes 13-14.
Long Qing visits the great light priest, Wei Guangming. He tells him chief priest ignored Luo Kedi to get rid of light, and stopped it when it was disclosed. Long Qing wants to save Wei Guangming, but he cannot open the door. Wei Guangming points out that Long Qing isn’t qualified to be sons of light, and drives him away.
Ning Que wakes up at Hongxiu Zhao and leaves a note to Sang Sang that he won’t go home tonight, and asks her to drink up the chicken soup. Jian Dajia tells Ning Que to study at academy, pointing out that people look down on student who goes to brothel. He thinks she is warm and thanks her for the reminding.

Jian Dajia adds that he needs to be outstanding if he wants to get Zhu Youjian and Situ Yilan’s respects. Ning Que swears to thank for her kindness when he succeeds. Jian Dajia remembers a old friend who promised to visit Hongxiu Zhao again, but he didn’t appear. The person is the legend except Fu Zi.
Ning Que wants to dig more details, but Jian Dajia asks Xiao Cao to send him home. Shui Zhuer drinks with Yan Se. He finds Ning Que’s note and copies it. Sang Sang wants to rub Ning Que’s back, he rejects it. She thinks he dislikes her. Yan Se finds out that he cannot master the point of Ning Que’s calligraphy, and is interested in him.
The next day, he visits academy and knows Ning Que cannot use mind power. He regrets to leave. Yu Lian persuades Ning Que not to go against his fate, but he doesn’t want to give up. He opens the book “Wu Shantang talks about spacious sword”. He feels the ground shakes and falls to a field, someone waves the sword. Ning Que wakes up, trying to understand the meaning of the book.

He complains to God and writes out what he thought. But Chen Pipi tells him to accept his weakness. They continues communication. Chen Pipi takes himself to be genius but he cannot answer Ning Que’s question. Ning Que mentions Chen Pipi to Sang Sang, thinking he is a stalker and hurt by women. Chen Pipi gives Ning Que a prescription, he asks Sang Sang to boil the medicine for him according to the prescription.
Ning Que wants to open his point with devil sect’s spell. But Chen Pipi tells him devil sect is hunted down and fears Ning Que falling to devil path. Ning Que knows Chen Pipi is the west palace genius. He visits the building nearby lake. Yan Suqing gets tea for Ning Que and says he was a paper examiner. He sees Ning Que’s blade, and thinks he killed Zhang Yiqi and Chen Zixian.
Yan Suqing admits the betraying letter of General Lin came from him, but he didn’t get promoted. Long Qing returns Yan Kingdom and complains to Prince Yan that Wei Guangming ignored him. Prince Yan tells his son that Fu Zi is the most capable person in the world, and decides to send Long Qing to Tang Empire.
Ever Night Chinese Drama Recap: Episode 14
Ning Que takes his blade to visit Yan Suqing. Sang Sang worries about him and asks him to take her dark umbrella. Ning Que asks Yan Suqing why he united Zhang Yiqi and Chen Zixian to murder General Lin and his family. Yan Suqing says he just obeyed God’s order. Ning Que asks him who participated in the plan. Yan Suqing says Li Peiyan.

Yan Suqing casts the flash of sword to Ning Que, but Ning Que avoid it. Yan Suqing takes knife to rush to Ning Que. Ning Que fights with him, but he isn’t his opponent. Ning Que flees to stairs and avoids Yan Suqing’s 14 cuts. He is wounded to ask Yan Suqing who participated in the plan. Yan Suqing thinks Ning Que is dying, so he tells him the boss is Wei Guangming.
Yan Suqing uses his final attack to kill Ning Que, but Ning Que blocks the three knives with the dark umbrella and casts the blade to Yan Suqing’s chest. Long Qing says farewell to Wei Guangming. Cheng Lixue tells Long Qing to become the student of Fu Zi, so he will become the great priest of light palace. But Long Qing fears Wei Guangming won’t accept him. Cheng Lixue promises that chief priest will shut Wei Guangming’s mouth, and sends Long Qing to Tang Empire.
Ning Que’s wound keeps bleeding. He arrives at rosefinch street, rosefinch wakes up to turn into a fireball. He is scared to flee, but rosefinch takes him to the sky and drops him to the ground. Ning Que lies in his blood. Wei Guangming senses rosefinch’s waking and thinks the son of darkness got strong. Sang Sang wakes up and thinks Ning Que is in danger.
She looks for Ning Que in the rain. Wei Guangming’s student wants to kill the son of darkness. Ning Que finds out he doesn’t bleed but he is still weak. He gets up to leave. Shangguan Yangyu investigates the case of building nearby lake, but he gets nothing. Tie Ying find a robe of academy stained iron filings. Shangguan Yangyu thinks the person is related to Chen Zixian’s death.
Ning Que returns academy. Yu Lian asks him if rosefinch got angry to him or the dark umbrella. She says that she cannot save him for the promise, and prays God to bless him. Li Qingshan reports to Yan Se that rosefinch woke, and Yan Suqing died. Yan Se thinks the rosefinch killed the murderer, and warns Li Qingshan not to peek at destiny. But Li Qingshan swears to find the murderer.
Yan Se senses Ning Que is dying. Chen Pipi sees Ning Que in the old library, Ning Que recognizes Chen Pipi. Chen Pipi doesn’t expect they met in such way, and finds out he is badly hurt. Ning Que passes out, Chen Pipi seals his points to save his life. Sang Sang arrives at academy to look for Ning Que, Chen Pipi calls her to the second floor. She wants to invite a doctor to see Ning Que, but Chen Pipi thinks even imperial physician cannot cure Ning Que.
Chen Pipi finds a chill gas destroyed Ning Que’s gas ocean and rebuild a new gas ocean. Sang Sang asks him to save Ning Que, so Chen Pipi takes out the pill of heaven. He hesitates because he became genius after taking the pill. But Sang Sang robs the pill and puts it into Ning Que’s mouth.
Yan Se senses Ning Que is alive. Ning Que opens his eyes, Chen Pipi grumbles that his pill saved Ning Que’s life.
