Dong-Joo has lived with his girlfriend he loves for a long time. They were in the bathtub last night. He even made the decision to make a proposal. But he finds out that his girl Eun-Nam wears a wedding dress in Buried Hearts Episode 2.
Eun-Nam agrees to the marriage for a reason. But she cannot tell the reason to Dong-Joo. She asks her stepfather Il-Do before the wedding if her father’s death was just an accident. Her father passed away many years ago. His best friend Il-Do married Eun-Nam’s mother immediately. Il-Do became the son-in-law of Daesan Group since then.
Il-Do is calm when he’s questioned. He claims that it was just an accident. He didn’t kill his friend. He asks Eun-Nam if she can cut ties with Dong-Joo completely. Il-Do and his wife know Eun-Nam and Dong-Joo lived together. Il-Do worries that the guy will tangle Eun-Nam. But Eun-Nam promises that Dong-Joo won’t do something bad.
Dong-Joo witnesses his girlfriend becoming the wife of his classmate. He’s emotional but he’s thrown into a dark room. He receives a message from Eun-Nam. She wishes him to take revenge. She tells him to appear in front of her when he holds another woman’s hand. She promises to endure it even if she’s in jealousy.
It breaks his hear and he sheds tears. He’s sad after he lost his lover. He’s taken out of the dark room. He meets with Eun-Nam. He takes out the watch she gave him. He blames her for cheating on his feelings. He asks her if she wanted to marry him ever. She intends to speak out the words that hurt his feelings for making him give up.
She claims that it’s very important to her to get the shares of the group. She doesn’t need love in her marriage. She turns around and she leaves. His tears are in his eyes again. He picks up the watch and he wears it for covering the love tattoo he did for Eun-Nam.
He goes to the church to see his older sister Agnes. His older sister is a nun in the church. She’s told that her younger sister was dumped. She scolds the bad woman. But Dong-Joo is still gentle. He wishes his older sister to pray for Eun-Nam. He gets a call from the chairman in the evening. The chairman claims that the wine safe is empty. Dong-Joo knows the chairman’s intention. He buys some wine from the convenience store. He visits the chairman’s house. He takes a look at the house.
We go to eight years ago. Dong-Joo is an ordinary employee in the secretary’s office. Fortunately, he’s very smart. The senior forgets to wear a tie when he meets with the chairman. Dong-Joo lends his tie to his senior. The chairman intends to turn the safe in front of him. Dong-Joo memorizes the password and he takes out the wine from the safe. Chairman hands over the wine which was added two raw eggs to Dong-Joo. Dong-Joo drinks it up.
We return to the present. Dong-Joo tries to put the wine into the safe. But he finds out that Chairman changed the password. It seems that Chairman doesn’t trust him anymore. Eun-Nam takes out the group photo of her and her father after the wedding. She looks at the father in the photo. She tears up and her eyes are determined. She makes a decision.
Her stepbrother Tae-Yoon talks with her. He mistakes that she will marry Dong-Joo. Her mother Duk-Hee knows the case of her and Dong-Joo except her brother. She reminds Eun-Nam that she shouldn’t let her grandfather and Jang-Sun know that she lived with another man before she got married. She thinks it’s not a good thing.
Chairman and his family have a gathering. Chairman invited Dong-Joo. Dong-Joo runs into Eun-Nam when he just came. The atmosphere in the family is embarrassed when the two have an eye contact. Dong-Joo falls asleep in the evening. He sees Eun-Nam walking to him. He cannot control his feelings when she calls him. He kisses her when he cries. But he finds out that it was just a dream. He’s told from the chef that he was crazy to drink.
Dong-Joo is sober and he comes to see Chairman. Chairman isn’t there. Dong-Joo catches the chance to get into the hidden room. He tries to open the vault. But the password of the vault was changed. Chairman appears behind Dong-Joo. He asks him about his feelings that he couldn’t open the safe and the vault.
Dong-Joo tells Chairman the truth that he thinks he did it because he’s known the relationship of him and Eun-Nam. It’s true that Chairman knew the information from Jang-Sun. Jang-Sun wished Chairman to kick Dong-Joo out of the group.
Chairman doesn’t let Dong-Joo leave the company. He questions him if he didn’t know Eun-Nam is his granddaughter. Dong-Joo confesses that he actually had the plan to approach Chairman’s granddaughter. But he changed his plan after he encountered Eun-Nam. He realizes that Chairman is going to fire him. He resigns.
But Chairman thinks Dong-Joo is a good guy. He refuses to accept his resignation. He drives the car and he takes Dong-Joo to a bakery. Dong-Joo knows Chairman came to the place not for tasting the bread. Chairman leaks that the owner of the bakery is the previous popular anchor. The owner’s son is his son.
Duk-Hee and Il-Do know Chairman has a son outside. Duk-Hee has looked into and watched on the son. She knows her son will lose his position if the illegitimate child’s identity is revealed. Il-Do thinks his wife worried about it too much. She believes that the thing won’t happen.
Chairman takes Dong-Joo to visit Il-Do after the bakery trip. Il-Do is told from his son that Chairman just ate bread with Dong-Joo. Il-Do is anxious. He has murderous spirit when he looks at Dong-Joo. He tells Chairman to get rid of Dong-Joo no matter what happens. But Chairman has another plan. He told Dong-Joo the new passwords of the safe and vault. He hints at him to support his illegitimate child to inherit the group.
Dong-Joo comes to the group after he got the order from Chairman. He opens the vault and he takes out the gold bars and dollars. He visits Jang-Sun. He gives the gold bars and the dollars to him. Jang-Sun realizes that Chairman did it for asking him to take back his request.
He feels uneasy. Dong-Joo’s presence is a thorn to the marriage of his nephew and Eun-Nam. Dong-Joo is calm. He claims that he won’t leave Daesan Group. But he will respect Eun-Nam’s choice. Eun-Nam’s husband Hui-Cheol plans to take his wife to see his friends. Eun-Nam and Dong-Joo have an eye contact when the door is open. She’s shocked. He’s sad.
Duk-Hee takes Eun-Nam to buy suit. She plans to give it to Il-Do as a present. Il-Do is going to be the vice-president. He has waited for the day for too long. But Chairman refuses to give the position to Il-Do because the subsidiary companies went against Il-Do. We are surprised that the one who becomes vice-president is Dong-Joo’s senior Gi-Hyeon. Gi-Hyeon is very happy after he became the beneficiary of the family fight.

Kuk-Hee goes against her father’s decision. She thinks it’s unfair to her brother-in-law. Il-Do feels wronged. He’s angry. But he pretends that he’s fine in front of Chairman. You know the one who was in charge of reviewing him was Dong-Joo. He sees Dong-Joo talking with Chairman. His discontent with Dong-Joo reaches the top. Jang-Sun is told that Il-Do lost his position because of Dong-Joo. He plans to kill Dong-Joo.

The episode ends with Dong-Joo visiting a team leader of the group. He’s attacked after he walked into the house. He finds out that the team leader is bleeding. The killer tries to kill Dong-Joo. Dong-Joo has to use all his strength to fight the killer. Fortunately, the killer is beaten down by Dong-Joo. Dong-Joo is confused after he saved himself. The killer’s cell phone is ringing. Dong-Joo picks up the phone. He hears a familiar voice.
