What Happens to Lady Ming?
Note: From here on out there are specific plot spoilers for A Journey to Love: Episode 5.
The follower reports to the prince that he saw it. The prince breaks into the room when he sees Li Tongguang sleeping with Liu Li. The prince reports to Emperor An that Li Tongguang slept with a laundrywoman in the tent. Emperor An wonders when Li Tongguang has feelings.
Li Tongguang thinks it was just a maid. He reveals he was happy after Emperor An promoted him. Emperor An is surprised that it was his mistake. Consort Chu meets with Li Tongguang. She asks him if he actually likes the maid. She tells him to kill the maid because she thinks it’s a danger if the maid is alive.
Li Tongguang explains to Consort Chu that he couldn’t kill the maid because the maid was like her when she cried. But she tells him not to tell a lie to her. She mentions he doesn’t touch her when she stands in front of him. She mentions what Hedong Prince said that he slept with the maid.
She thinks he has used her. She asks him if he thinks she’s very dirty. He yells at her that he doesn’t like his lowly bloodline in his body. He mentions she’s the noblest woman. He thinks he cannot stay by her side if she’s not lonely.
He tries to stroke her face. But he takes back his hand. He tells her that he cannot do it. She grabs his hand. She apologizes to him when she cries. She promises not to force him. She leans her head on his shoulder. Yu Shisan drinks the Qian Zhao at the teahouse.
Ning Yuanzhou returns with Ren Ruyi. Yu Shisan finds out Ren Ruyi is a beauty. Qian Zhao mentions Ren Ruyi is Ning Yuanzhou’s cousin. Yu Shisan asks Ren Ruyi about her name. Ning Yuanzhou tells Ren Yuyi’s name to Yu Shisan. He reveals the girl is going to go to An Kingdom with them because she needs to teach Yang Ying.
Ning Yuanzhou tries to introduce Yu Shisan to Ren Ruyi. But he tells Ren Ruyi that the guy isn’t important at all. But Yu Shisan tells Ren Ruyi that he’s better than Qian Zhao. He notes that she’s sick. Ning Yuanzhou reveals Ren Ruyi was hurt. He asks Qian Zhao to see the girl.
Qian Zhao takes a look at Ren Ruyi’s wound. He finds out that the wound is like blood dragon of Red Clothes Guards. Ning Yuanzhou reveals Ren Ruyi is the enemy of Red Clothes Guards. Qian Zhao makes a herb soup. He lets Ren Ruyi drink the soup.
Yu Shisan wonders why Ren Ruyi doesn’t speak. He thinks her voice was hurt. Ning Yuanzhou tells Yu Shisan that Ren Ruyi just doesn’t want to talk with him. They leave the teahouse. Ning Yuanzhou hands over the snack to Ren Ruyi. She eats the snack when she’s on the chariot.
She remembers Ling Long promised to buy her the snacks. Yuan Lu wants to eat the snack. He asks Ren Ruyi what happened. She reveals she just missed her old friend. She hands over the snacks to him. She wonders why those guys didn’t suspect her.
Yuan Lu mentions Ning Yuanzhou let Qian Zhao see Ren Ruyi. He thinks those guys have treated her as their partner. Ren Ruyi is surprised that those guys trust Ning Yuanzhou so much. Yuan Lu reveals he won’t blink if Ning Yuanzhou asks him to die.
Ren Ruyi is surprised that Ning Yuanzhou is so outstanding. Yuan Lu reveals there were many ladies wishing to marry Ning Yuanzhou. Ren Ruyi remembers Queen Zhaojie told her not to fall for a man easily. But she asked her to have a child on her own.
Yu Shisan finds out that Ren Ruyi began to speak in the end. He thinks her voice is very beautiful. But she tells him not to call her cousin. She uses the bamboo stick to fight with him. Yuan Lu catches the chance to flee. Ren Ruyi tells Yu Shisan that she knows his weakness.
Qian Zhao fights with Ren Ruyi. She tells him about his weakness. Yuan Lu follows Ning Yuanzhou. He wonders why the people had a fight. Ning Yuanzhou mentions the wolf joined the wolf group. He thinks Yu Shansan and Qian Zhao did it for knowing the positions of them.
Ning Yuanzhou introduces Ren Ruyi to Yang Ying. He tells Yang Ying that Ren Ruyi is going to teach her. Ren Ruyi pays her respect to Yang Ying. Lady Ming blames Ning Yuanzhou for changing the person without talking with them. Ren Ruyi reveals Ning Yuanzhou did it because Lady Ming is incompetent.
Lady Ming scolds Ren Ruyi. She claims that she was sent by Queen Xiaoyan. Ren Ruyi grabs Lady Ming. She throws her out of the house. She tells the guards to sent Lady Ming to the capital. Lady Ming is taken away. Du Changshi wonders what happened.
Ren Ruyi tells Du Changshi that she just informed him. Yang Ying tells Du Changshi that she wishes Ren Ruyi to be her teacher. Ren Ruyi writes down the big roles of An Kingdom. She tells Yang Ying to recite. Yang Ying hands over the tea to Ren Ruyi.
Ren Ruyi wonders why Yang Ying doesn’t fear her. She asks her why she kept her since she was timid. Yang Ying confesses to Ren Ruyi that she did it because Ren Ruyi defeated Lady Ming. She reveals Lady Ming was strict when she cries.
Ren Ruyi realizes that Lady Ming beat Yang Ying. Yang Ying denies it. Ren Ruyi takes off Yang Ying’s sleeve. She sees the pinholes on Yang Ying’s arm. She wonders why Yang Ying didn’t tell it to Ning Yuanzhou. Yang Ying explains to Ren Ruyi that she worried that she would give Ning Yuanzhou a hard time.
She thinks Lady Ming did it for making her study hard. Yuan Lu shows up. Ren Ruyi tells Yuan Lu to let the guards use the needles on Lady Ming. Yang Ying is moved to hug Ren Ruyi. Ren Ruyi leaves Yang Ying’s palace. She runs into Ning Yuanzhou.
Ning Yuanzhou reveals Yuan Lu has reported it to him. He thanks Ren Ruyi. He feels guilty for not taking care Yang Ying well. But she thinks it’s ordinary that he didn’t know the trick of women in the palace. She wonders why he doesn’t tell Yu Shisan that she’s a Red Clothes Guard. He thinks there’s no woman wishing to let others know that she sold her looks.
Ning Yuanzhou tells Ren Ruyi not to let Qian Zhao know her identity. Because Qian Zhao hates Red Clothes Guards very much. The group arrive at the hotel in Zhu City. Yu Shisan thinks Ren Ruyi is heartless. Yuan Lu wonders why Yang Ying cried since Ren Ruyi was nice to Yang Ying.
Who Tells Yang Ying the Truth?
Ning Yuanzhou thinks Ren Ruyi won’t be nice to Yang Ying all the time even if Ren Ruyi helped Yang Ying punish Lady Ming. Ren Ruyi tells Yang Ying to drink like a man. She asks her to eat the food. But Yang Ying refuses to eat the food.
Ren Ruyi tells Yang Ying to go to the yard to do a horse stance. Yang Ying leaves the room. Ren Ruyi sees Ning Yuanzhou. She wonders if he thinks she was heartless to Yang Ying. He denies it. He believes that Ren Ruyi suffered more than Yang Ying.
Ren Ruyi is surprised that Ning Yuanzhou is nice to her. He points out that they’re partners. She asks him to drink with her. But he claims that he cannot drink cold wine because he was hurt. She promises to warm the wine for him. She strokes his hand before she leaves.
Yang Ying trips when she does horse stance. Ren Ruyi supports Yang Ying. She wonders why she didn’t ask her why she let her do horse stance. Yang Ying denies it. But she knows Ren Ruyi does anything good for her. Ren Ruyi tells Yang Ying to take a break. She wonders why she listened to her.
Yang Ying reveals she liked Ren Ruyi when she saw her the first time. But Ren Ruyi points out that Yang Ying listened to Lady Ming even if Lady Ming was rude to Yang Ying. She thinks Yang Ying doesn’t dare to go against anyone.
Yang Ying reveals her mother and the ladies told her to be a good girl. Because they worried that she cannot marry herself off. Ren Ruyi thinks Yang Ying can be alone all her life because she’s a princess. But Yang Ying worries that she cannot give birth to babies if she doesn’t get married.
Ren Ruyi thinks Yang Ying can have her own child as well even if she doesn’t marry a man. But Yang Ying thinks it’s very important to find a good husband. Ren Ruyi tells Yang Ying that the people told a lie to her. Yang Ying doesn’t believe that her sister-in-law would trick her.
Ren Ruyi reveals Queen Xiaoyan wished to send Yang Ying to hell. Yang Ying tells Ren Ruyi not to badmouth her sister-in-law. She thinks Queen Xiaoyan was nice to her. Ren Ruyi mentions Queen Xiaoyan asked Yang Ying to go to An Kingdom even if she knew she’s a terrible princess.
She reminds Yang Ying that the chancellors of An Kingdom will know she’s a girl. She thinks Yang Ying can tell it to the devil king when she sees him. Ren Ruyi tells the truth to Yang Ying that Danyang Prince doesn’t wish Emperor Wu to come back.
She adds that Danyang Prince wishes to see the dead body of Emperor Wu. So Danyang Prince can be the new emperor. Queen Xiaoyan doesn’t want to save Emperor Wu as well. She wants to delay until she gives birth to a prince. So she can be the emperor’s mother.
She can rule the court after she becomes Empress Dowager. She wishes Yang Ying and Emperor Wu to be locked up in the prisoner. She thinks it’s a good ending if Yang Ying and Emperor Wu passe away in the prison. Yang Ying blames Ren Ruyi for telling a lie to her.
Ren Ruyi tells Yang Ying to ask Ning Yuanzhou about it. Ning Yuanzhou thinks Ren Ruyi shouldn’t tell the truth to Yang Ying. She tells him that she doesn’t wish Yang Ying to be a silly ghost. She tells Yang Ying that she will die if she doesn’t change herself.
She tells her that she can only survive when she studies hard. She walks away. Yang Ying cries to ask Ning Yuanzhou if what Ren Ruyi said is true. He admits it. She runs into his arms. She tears up. She lies in the bed. He takes care of her. He leaves her room.
Ren Ruyi asks Yang Ying about the princes of An Kingdom in the carriage. She’s surprised that she’s improved. She thinks it works when she gives her good medicine. The group arrive at White Sand Town. Yuan Lu tells Yu Shisan that he’s hungry. He wishes to reach the border.
Yu Shisan tells Yuan Lu to lost weight. Yang Ying reveals she’s in her period. She asks Ren Ruyi to go to the town to look for the women stuff for her. Ren Ruyi leaves. Yang Ying arrives at the restroom. She tells the maids not to serve her.
Yang Ying is sick when she has meal. She returns to her room. Ning Yuanzhou walks into Yang Ying’s room. She asks him to taste the honey water for her. He tastes the honey water. He finds out that it’s very sweet. She lets him place the honey water on the table.
She intends to drink it after she wakes up. He walks out of her room. He passes out. Yang Ying catches the chance to flee. Ning Yuanzhou wakes up. He sees Ren Ruyi. He finds out that he was drugged. She reveals she didn’t do that.
Does Ren Ruyi Kill Queen Zhaojie?
Ning Yuanzhou realizes that the person was Yang Ying. Ren Ruyi reveals she didn’t expect that Yang Ying had the guts. She mentions Yang Ying wished to ask Queen Xiaoyao and Danyang Prince about it after she knew the truth. Ning Yuanzhou asks Ren Ruyi to call Yuan Lu.
But she reveals the only one who can move is her. Ning Yuanzhou asks Ren Ruyi a favor. She helps him get up. She reveals she wishes to take revenge for Queen Zhaojie. He’s surprised because he thought she killed Queen Zhao Jie. She reveals she treated Queen Zhaojie as her mother because Queen Zhaojie was nice to her.
She thinks she wouldn’t kill Queen Zhaojie. She reveals she went to Moon Tower for saving Queen Zhaojie. It flashes back. Queen Zhaojie and Ren Ruyi are in the flame. Queen Zhaojie thinks Ren Ruyi is a silly child. She tells her to have a child who belongs to her. She pushes her out of the flame.
Ren Ruyi tears up when she mentions what Queen Zhaojie said. She reveals she fled to Sheng City to recover. She adds that she lived in a madam’s house. The Red Clothes Guards caught her because they didn’t know her. Ren Ruyi wanted to look into who killed Queen Zhaojie.
She joined Red Clothes Guards again. Ning Yuanzhou promises to help Ren Ruyi look into the killer who killed Queen Zhaojie. But Ren Ruyi wishes to complete the wish of Queen Zhaojie. She wants to give the name Ren Xiaochuan to her child.
But Ning Yuanzhou thinks the name is similar to his name. He thinks Ren Ruyi doesn’t have to tell it to him. Because it’s her business. But she thinks he will help her. He worries that he did something to her. But she tells him that he will do something with her. She promises not to force him.

Episode 5 of A Journey to Love ends with Ning Yuanzhou asking Ren Ruyi if she actually wishes to give birth with him. He thinks she didn’t take medicine by mistake. She reveals she has chosen him. She mentions she will leave a child for him if he dies on the way to An Kingdom.
