This is the recap for Kill Me Love Me: Episode 1. The two kingdoms West Yan and Great Flame have fought many years on the mainland. North Wei Army orders to set on fire and kill the people in the city after they took back Great Flame’s lost land Blue State.
The people are trying to run away from the city when the city is burning. The girl Mei Lin lies in the bed in her room. She keeps coughing. Her father Mei Dashan yells at her when he tries to wake her up. He tells her that it’s on fire.
Mei Lin gets up from the bed. Mei Dashan ties her with a rope. She wonders what he will do if she goes down. He comforts her that he will be fine. He tries to help her go down from third floor when he tells her to grab the rope. But he’s hit by a beam on fire. He tells Mei Lin to live. He disappears into the fire then.
Mei Lin cries. She walks through the crowd. She sees a masked man who’s trying to pour the gas on the burning house. She tries to stop him and she grabs the waistband from him. She takes a look at the waistband. She learns that she belongs to Murong Jinghe’s army. She yells when she swears to let the guy pay the price.
Mei Lin wears a black veil to walk on the training ground. She tells us that she’s dead after her parents passed away in the fire. She sees herself bitten by the masked man. She says that she forgot crying and pain. She adds that she joined Dark Field for killing her enemy Murong Jinghe.
Mei Lin holds the knife to fight with the killers of Dark Field. She defeats them. She sees herself who wears the veil. She leaves the training ground when A flock of crows fly through the sky.
Mei Lin walks through a dilapidated village. Everyone is dead except the little girl who cries in the house. Mei Lin casts her knife to the house. The house falls down. A group of killers show up. One of the killers blames Mei Lin because they plan to take a living person to go back to the Dark Field to get trained. Mei Lin claims that the person was dying. She thinks they don’t have to waste food and water. She promises to report it to the master. The killers leave. Mei Lin takes out a bun. She throws the bun to the little girl. She tells her to continue to live. She leaves the village.
Mei Lin returns to Dark Field. She pays her respect to Master. He sprinkles red powder on her when he tells her that it’s a reward. He tells her that she can only leave Dark Field after she completes the task. He asks her to join the diplomatic group for killing the third prince of Great Flame Murong Jinghe. She remembers Murong Jinghe is her enemy. A crow dies after Mei Lin left Dark Field.
Great Flame and West Yan decide to talk about peace after they have fought one hundred years. West Yan King sends Princess Zigu to Great Flame for peaceful marriage. The diplomatic group is going to get into Great Flame from North Jing. Morong Jinghe who guards North Jing volunteers to be the envoy.
The crown prince of Great Flame Murong Xuanlie visits Emperor. Emperor shows Crown Prince the papers that are against Murong Jinghe to be the envoy. Crown Prince thinks it’s reasonable that the ministers thought Murong Jinghe isn’t suitable for the envoy because Murong Jinghe attacked West Yan before.
Emperor Murong Qian asks Crown Prince if he thinks Murong Jinghe isn’t suitable for the envoy as well. Crown Prince denies it. He thinks Murong Jinghe can threaten West Yan. Emperor worries it because he knows Murong Jinghe was intemperate. Crown Prince explains it to Emperor that Murong Jinghe was depressed because Murong Jinghe was hurt after the big fire of Blue State. He thinks Murong Jinghe will be a good prince. Emperor says that the reflection is enough.
The diplomatic group is on the way to North Jing. Some beauties are in the carriage talking about Murong Jinghe. The beauty thinks Prince Jing’s mansion is a good place because she heard the prince was favored by Emperor. But another beauty A Jia reveals the prince is brutal because he went to battlefields.
The third beauty agrees to what A Jia said. She reveals Murong Jinghe’s pillow was made by the bones of captives. She adds that the women who served Prince Jing didn’t live the next day. A Yi thinks they don’t have to fear Murong Jinghe because they’re not captives. The third beauty A Dai mentions Murong Jinghe killed the people of Great Flame. She reveals Murong Jinghe killed 100,000 people in Blue State.
There’s nobody coming out to welcome the diplomatic group. The prince Zi Gu shows up to look outside. She sees the ghost money falling from sky. The gate is opened. Two groups of armed soldiers walk out of the gate. Murong Jinghe shows up when he’s carried by the soldiers.
The eunuch shows up. He greets Zi Gu. She points at the ghost money when she questions him what Murong Jinghe means. Murong Jinghe explains that he threw ghost money because Little Seven passed away. The eunuch Liu Zhong asks the princess to forgive Murong Jinghe because Murong Jinghe just lost his old friend.
Zi Gu asks Murong Jinghe’s bodyguard Qing Yan about Little Seven. He reveals Little Seven is a turtle the prince raised. Zi Gu is furious to blame Murong Jinghe for cursing them. He tells her that she thought it too much. The dog leaves his arms. He runs to Mei Lin.
Murong Jinghe is close to Mei Lin. He thinks his pet Little Ba likes Mei Lin. Zi Gu blames his way because she worries that he will hurt Mei Lin. But Qing Yan just takes away Little Ba. Liu Zhong reports to the prince that he will get four beauty.
But Murong Jinghe is only interested in the beauty Mei Lin. He plans to let Little Ba make the decision for him. But he’s told that he can only choose the beauties after the election. Murong Jinghe regrets for being the envoy. Zi Gu scolds him when she claims that the beauties aren’t captives. She tells him not to insult the beauties.
He mentions West Yan offered to exchange 10,000 captives with 100 beauties. He thinks he didn’t insult the beauties. He tells her to blame her father instead. He leaves. Liu Zhong tells Zi Gu that the prince just joked. He comforts her that the prince won’t sleep with the beauties before the ceremony. She plans to go the the capital. But she’s told that she needs to take a break in North Jing.
The beauties live in the hotel. One of the beauties finds Lamp Fruit Cake from the kitchen. She shares it with other beauties. The beauty finds out that the cake is sour. She mentions the people of Blue State are good at making Lamp Fruit Cake. She wonders what they added into the cake. Mei Lin reveals it was Mountain Licorice.
She notes that someone is outside. She goes to open the door. She sees Zi Gu who carries a pillow. Zi Gu lies on the table. She reveals she couldn’t sleep. She asks for the method which can make her fall asleep without any hardship.
Mei Lin offers to stun Zi Gu. The beauties scold Mei Lin. They think she cannot take the duty if Zi Gu is hurt. But Zi Gu asks Mei Lin to give it a try if she’s confident. But Mei Lin reveals she’s not confident. Zi Gu stops Mei Lin because she worries that she will be hurt.
She lies in the bed with the beauties. She reveals she feared it. The beauty comforts Zi Gu that her father won’t let it go if she’s hurt. But Zi Gu agrees to the crazy man said that her father sold her to Great Flame. Another beauty comforts Zi Gu that everyone likes her. But Zi Gu knows her father sent her to Great Flame instead of her sister Zi Yu. She thinks Zi Yu is more important than her in her father’s heart.
Mei Lin persuades Zi Gu that she was sent to Great Flame because she’s prettiest. Zi Gu agrees to what Mei Lin said. She asks her if she fears it. Mei Lin tells Zi Gu that there’s nothing deserving her to fear in the world. Zi Gu reveals she came to look for her older brother.
Murong Jinghe falls asleep in his room. He remembers he was beaten by the people after he was accused of setting the fire. He wakes up from the nightmare. Mei Lin sneaks into his room with a knife. She tries to be close to his bed.
But she’s shot by the arrows. She avoids the arrows. She takes a look at his wheel. She thinks it’s just a little trick. She opens the hidden room. She finds his bed. But he’s not in the bed. She thinks he’s a sly rabbit. Another killer sneaks into the room.
Mei Lin leaves the hidden room. She fights with the killer. He flees from the window. He learns that there’re many people wishing to kill Murong Jinghe. But he needs to die in her hands. She tries to leave the room. But she overhears that Murong Jinghe is in the bathroom.
Mei Lin dresses up to be a maid. She walks into the bathroom with the medicine. She’s close to Murong Jinghe. But he turns around and he targets her with a crossbow. He recognizes her. She reveals she came to give him the medicine.
He thinks she was wronged to be his Medicine Serving Maid. But she says that she not only wants to be Medicine Serving Maid. She takes off her dress. She reveals she fell for him when she saw him. She drops his crossbow. He welcomes her when he reaches out his hand to her. She holds the gold hairpin to approach him.
He pulls her into the pool. Her weapon falls into the water. She finds out that there’s drug in the water. It can make her weak. It’s too late after she realized it. He catches her when he threatens her with the gold hairpin. He tells her that he cannot give his life to her when he reaches her chin with the hairpin.
She tells him that she only wants to get him. He stabs her neck with the hairpin. A drop of blood falls into the pool. He mentions the virgin blood can only appear in the wedding night. She claims that she doesn’t want to wait for it.
Liu Zhong discovers the killer in the yard. He asks Qing Yan to go to protect the prince. Qing Yan runs away. But he doesn’t know where the prince is. Someone leaks that the prince is at the medicine spring. Liu Zhong and Qing Yan break into the bathroom. But they see the prince kissing Mei Lin. They leave.
Murong Jinghe bits Mie Lin’s lip. He pushes her away. He laughs to tell her that he can do anything because he’s a crazy man. He strangles her with a rope. He persuades her not to provoke a crazy man because he can kill her. But she tells him that she worries that she cannot die with him.
He releases her and he thinks her eyes are beautiful. He wonders if he saw her somewhere before. He thinks they have a fate. She agrees to what he said. He asks her to return to Capital Zhao with him. He stands up. She learns that he’s not a cripple. He leaves the pool and he thinks she didn’t let him down. He mentions she was a beggar. He leaves the bathroom.
