Why Was Zuko Banished In Avatar: The Last Airbender?
Zuko is a prince of fire nation. He should enjoy food and the beauties in the palace. But his father Ozai doesn’t intend to let his son live a comfortable. He plans to defeat other nations to rule the world. He treats Zuko as his heir the future king of fire nation.
He sends Zuko to the army. He wishes him to show something good. But Zuko goes against General Li’s plan when the general plans to sacrifice some of the soldiers to defeat earth kingdom. Because he thinks it’s too cruel. Ozai supports the general’s plan as a king.
He thinks Zuko is too weak. He asks him to have a fight with him. Zuko uses his power to defeat Ozai. But he doesn’t kill him. Ozai takes the chance and he leaves a scar on his son’s face with his fire. He asks him to go to look for their enemy Aang the last airbender. He also doesn’t sacrifice the soldiers. He lets the soldiers be Zuko’s followers. Zuko is banished in Avatar: The Last Airbender in the end.
He begins the journey to look for Aang. He keeps his father’s words in his mind that he will be his heir if he kills Aang. But he comes Aang’s friend when he fights with him. He saves him when he’s in danger. He wears the kindness mask because the mask was given by his mother a kindness woman.
Zuko is like his mother Ursa who’s a good empress. She’s nice to everyone. She disagrees to his husband’s plan to attack other nations for ruling the world. Zuko actually doesn’t want to take over fire nation. He just wishes to win his father’s heart.
His sister Azula is a good heir in Ozai’s mind. Because Azula let Ozai kill her friends when her friends went against her father. She thinks Ozai is going to let her be the heir of fire nation. But Ozai tells her that he’s waiting for Zuko. It makes Azula hate Zuko. Ozai plans to let the brother and the sister have a fight. He will choose the winner as his heir.
