What Happens In Twinkling Watermelon Episode 1?

The cafe owner lets another waitress who knows Japanese to serve Eun Gyeol and Eun Ho. But he finds out that they can speak Korean. Eun Gyeol leaves the cafe with Eun Ho. He puts the headphones on his ears. He tells him that he did it for avoiding the honk of the cars.
Eun Gyeol bikes with Eun Ho. He tells Twinkling Watermelon that his brother is a deaf. It flashes back. Eun Gyeol and Eun Ho return home. They wave at their parents when they bike. Eun Gyeol tells Twinkling Watermelon that his parents are deaf as well.
Eun Gyeol helps his father to serve the customers. The customer thinks Eun Gyeol helped his father again. He hands over the case to him. He asks him to give him two bottles of wine. But Eun Gyeol rejects it because he worries that the customers will case an accident after he’s drunk. He promises to give one bottle of wine to him. He tells him that he will fill up the bottle. The customer is very happy.
The vegetables supplier brings the vegetables to Eun Gyeol’s mother. She checks the vegetables and she finds out that he gave her leftover vegetables. Eun Gyeol tells the vegetables supplier to take away his vegetables. He tells him that he won’t work with him again if he gives them leftover again.
Eun Gyeol is woken up by the music. He gets up from the bed and he walks to the window. He looks at outside. He finds out that it’s snowing. Eun Gyeol’s mother joins Eun Gyeol. She tells Merry Christmas to him. She wonders why he woke up.
Eun Gyeol reveals he heard the sound of the snow falling. His mother asks him about sound of the snow falling. He reveals it’s like the laundry she dries in the sun. He adds that it warms his heart. Eun Gyeol’s father joins the two. He finds out that it’s snowing. He makes a snowman with his wife.
The stuff is going to fall when Eun Ho is making the snowman. Eun Gyeol notes it. He runs to Eun Ho. But he trips. He tries to call his parents. They cannot hear what he says. He uses the light to inform his father. His father saves Eun Ho before Eun Ho is hurt.
Eun Gyeol’s mother mentions what she told Eun Ho not to be close to the building under construction. He points out that his father saved him. She reminds him that his father couldn’t save him if he was with Eun Gyeol. Eun Gyeol asks his father which one he’s going to save if he and Eun Ho are in danger.
Eun Gyeol’s mother thinks the game is very funny. She joins the game. Eun Gyeol moves to a new home. The landlady shows up. She tells Eun Gyeol’s mother that she gave her a great deal. She mentions she convinced the people when they didn’t wish them to move in.
Why Grandpa Viva Teaches Eun Gyeol to Play Guitar?
The landlady reveals she told the people that Eun Gyeol’s family won’t be loud. She laughs to tell Eun Gyeol that she likes quiet. Eun Gyeol doesn’t tell what the landlady said to his mother. He tells her that the landlady asked them to move their things instead.
Eun Gyeol’s parents begin to move their things. The landlady wonders why Eun-Gyeol’s parents smiled at her. She thinks Eun Gyeol badmouthed her. He denies it and tells her that he just relayed her message. She checks their stuff. She finds many awards. She’s shocked and she thinks Eun Gyeol is each parent’s dream. She calls her son.
Byung-Ho visits Eun Gyeol when Eun Ho goes to the bathroom. He invites him to go out with him. Eun Gyeol wishes to take Eun Ho. But Byung-Ho rejects it because his mother only told him to be friends with the good score students. He bikes with Eun Gyeol. He stops when he passes by the music store.
Byung-Ho tells Eun Gyeol to stay away from the music store. Because he heard the rumor that the old man from the music store eats up kids. The old man Grandpa Viva shows up. The kids are scared to bike away. Eun Gyeol turns around. He has an eye contact with Grandpa Viva. He bikes away as well.
Eun Gyeol is playing game with the kid. He gets a call from his father who asks him to come home. But Eun Gyeol is having fun. His father reminds him that Eun Ho will be alone because he and his mother are going to leave. He leaves. The kids tells Byung-Ho that they don’t like Eun Gyeol. But Byung-Ho tells them that he hangs out with Eun Gyeol for a season.
The teacher tells the students that they’re going to take an exam. She tells Byung-Ho to get one question right. Eun Gyeol asks Byung-Ho to study with him for the test. But Byung-Ho tells Eun Gyeol to study alone. The kid shows up. He tells Byung-Ho that the kid they beat wants to take revenge.
Byung-Ho decides to go to fight with the kid. He throws his schoolbag to Eun Gyeol. He tells him to put his schoolbag in his room. He tries to leave. Eun Gyeol stops Byung-Ho. He asks him what he means that he told him to study alone.
Byung-Ho tells Eun Gyeol to write his name on his test paper. He thinks it’s an easy job to him. But Eun Gyeol thinks it’s cheating. But Byung-Ho reminds Eun Gyeol that he decides the future of his family. He tells him that his family will live on the street if he chooses to be the enemy of him.
But Eun Gyeol does do as Byung-Ho said. Byung-Ho takes the kids to bully Eun Gyeol. Eun Gyeol tells Byung-Ho that he didn’t agree to his plan. Byung-Ho is furious to grab Eun Gyeol’s collar. He tells him that he’s going to let his mother to kick Eun Gyeol’s family out. He’s taken away by the kids.
Eun Gyeol passes by the music store. He cries when he sits on the bench. Grandpa Viva notes that Eun Gyeol is crying outside. He walks out of his store. He throws the towel to him. He tells him to use the towel to dry his hair.
Grandpa Viva reminds Eun Gyeol that his parents will be surprised if he returns home with the looks. He returns to his store. Eun Gyeol walks into Grandpa Viva’s music store. He looks around. Grandpa Viva shows his legs to Eun Gyeol. He tells him that there’s nothing on his legs.
Eun Gyeol drinks Grandpa Viva’s hot chocolate. Grandpa Viva wonders why Eun Gyeol cried because of the bad kids. He tells them to ignore those kids. But Eun Gyeol tells Grandpa Viva that he didn’t cry for those kids. He adds that he cried because of the song. He reveals the song tried to talk with him.
Grandpa Viva asks Eun Gyeol if he knows Eric Clapton. Eun Gyeol doesn’t know the artist. Grandpa Viva tells Eun Gyeol to report what Byung-Ho did to him to his parents. But Eun Gyeol rejects it because he worries that people will badmouth his parents for their disabled.
Eun Gyeol reveals his brother and his parents are deaf. He tries to leave Grandpa Viva’s store. But Grandpa Viva stops Eun Gyeol. He asks him if he wants to learn how to play guitar or not. He thinks his life will be changed once he masters Eric Clapton’s song.
Eun Gyeol walks into the classroom. Byung-Ho reaches out his leg. He makes Eun Gyeol trip. Grandpa Viva tells Eun Gyeol not to feed his enemies when teaches him how to play guitar. He thinks his enemies aren’t humans. He points out that instruments are different.
Grandpa Viva tells Eun Gyeol that guitar isn’t like the bad kids. He plays the guitar and he tells Eun Gyeol that guitar gives him a sincere answer when he talks with it with sincere. Eun Gyeol wonders how does he talk to the guitar. Grandpa Viva tells Eun Gyeol to learn the language of guitar.
How Does Eun Gyeol’s House Catch Fire?
Eun Gyeol returns home. He sees Byung-Ho who standing outside without coat. Because he got zero again. Eun Gyeol puts his coat on Byung-Ho. He ignores him and walks away when he yells at him. Byung-Ho’s mother opens the window. She tells her son not to yell.
Eun Gyeol returns home. He finds out that his parents are going to leave. His mother asks him to take care of Eun Ho. He checks his brother and he goes to study music. He wears the headphones. Byung-Ho knocks at the door. He asks Eun Gyeol to open the door. But Eun Gyeol doesn’t hear what Byung-Ho says.
Byung-Ho throws Eun Gyeol’s clothes into his room through the window. The man passes by and he throws the butt to the ground. Byung-Ho kicks the butt into Eun Gyeol’s room. Eun Gyeol goes to Eun Ho’s room to take a look at his brother. He leaves after he found out that he falls asleep.
The butt lights the curtain. Eun Gyeol goes to Grandpa Viva’s store. He knocks at the door. But Grandpa Viva doesn’t reply to him. Grandpa Viva passes out in his store. The firefighters come to put out the fire. Eun Gyeol’s father shows up. He tries to get into the burning house to save his children. But Byung-Ho’s mother tells him that the firefighters go to save his children.
Episode 1 of Twinkling Watermelon ends with Eun Gyeol and Eun Ho taking their drunk father home. Eun Ho asks Eun Gyeol to take care of their father. He leaves. Eun Gyeol puts the cover on his father. His father wakes up. He tells Eun Gyeol that nobody looks down on him because his son is going to join the national team.
