Ling Xiao Sacrifices Himself

Fu Yin shows up. He tells Ling Xiao that he’s not his opponent. Ling Xiao breaks the stone statues. Fu Yin walks out of the black powers. Ling Xiao is startled to step back. Fu Yin tells Ling Xiao to join him like Su Ying. He casts the black power to Ling Xiao’s mind sea.
But Fu Yin finds out that Ling Xiao keeps his immortal heart. He’s surprised that he doesn’t have any selfish desire in his heart. He summons the black powers. Ling Xiao finds out that Qing Guang helped him learn great path when he fights with the black powers.
Ling Xiao remembers what Qing Guang told him that he can learn the power of Grand Master when he sees his heart. But he’s hurt by Fu Yin. He swears to sacrifice himself to break the formation. Fu Yin tells Ling Xiao that he can only stop him for a moment even if he kills himself.
Ling Xiao claims that he has the duty to guard the world because he’s the chief of Morning Star Mountain. He yells at Fu Yin that he doesn’t regret even if he can only stop him for a moment. He disappears with the black powers. The jade pendant falls to the sand. It’s covered by the sand. Fu Yin is released from Qing Guang’s body.
Xuan Ge brings the specialties of Blue Hill to Yan Hui. Huan Xiaoyan thinks Yan Hui has great face because she looks like returning home. Yan Hui smiles to tell Huan Xiaoyan that she wishes to bring the specialties to everyone because she hasn’t returned home for a long time.
The jade pendant drops when Yan Hui packs the specialties with Xuan Ge. Huan Xiaoyan picks the jade pendant up. She hands it over to Yan Hui. Yan Hui leaves. The wind blows the immortals. The immortals grab their jade rings. They think Ling Xiao was killed for fighting with the demon.
The kids see the black power. They’re scared. Tian Yao comforts the kids. He decides not to let Dragon Valley get hurt no matter what he’s going to face. He makes a flame enchantment to protect Dragon Valley. He tells the kids not to leave Dragon Valley. He tells them that he’s going to go to look for Yan Hui.
Fu Yin tells the immortals that the good and the evil are decided by him when they fight with him. He thinks the ants shouldn’t think about to shake the huge tree. Yan Hui returns to Morning Star Mountain. He sees the swords on the ground.
Yan Hui Regrets for Not Calling Ling Xiao Master
Yan Hui reaches the mountain peak. Fu Yin thinks Yan Hui wonders how did he return to the world. He mentions her master killed himself for stopping him. But her master is crushed by him. Yan Hui is furious to grab Fu Yin’s neck. He tells her that his body was crushed when dragon flame burned his mind sea.

Fu Yin tells Yan Hui that the people’s evil minds woke him up. He tells her that he knows she regrets for Ling Xiao’s death. He thinks she hates him most. He mentions what Ling Xiao told him that he never regretted for accept Yan Hui as his disciple. But Ling Xiao couldn’t wait for Yan Hui to call him master again.
Fu Yin tells Yan Hui that she will be his slave like others. Bai Xiaosheng leaves Fu Yin’s body. He tells Yan Hui not to be bewitched by Fu Yin. Yan Hui sees Ling Xiao’s jade ring when Bai Xiaosheng fights with Fu Yin. She tears up when she tries to grab the jade ring.
Yan Hui remembers Ling Xiao told her that her family is Morning Star Mountain when he carried her. He told her name Yan Hui to her. He didn’t scold her after she got a bad score. He told her to be herself. But she didn’t call him master before he left.
Yan Hui cries when she calls her master. Bai Xiaosheng tells Yan Hui to leave with him. But he’s hurt by Fu Yin. Yan Hui feels painful when the black powers get into her body. She turns into devil. Fu Yin decides to kill Bai Xiaosheng since Yan Hui has been a devil.
But Yan Hui stops Fu Yin with the dragon fire before he kills Bai Xiaosheng. He’s surprised that she can use dragon fire since her body is full of black powers. Yan Hui yells at Fu Yin that she will kill him. She absorbs the black powers. He thinks she will be the salve of black powers.
But Yan Hui tells Fu Yin that she won’t forgive him. She casts the dragon flame to him. Tian Yao shows up. He tells Yan Hui not to be bewitched by Fu Yin. She cries to tell him that Fu Yin caused Ling Xiao’s death. She tells him that he wants to kill Fu Yin.
Tian Yao tells Yan Hui not to be blinded by her revenge. But she still insists on killing Fu Yin. Tian Yao tells Yan Hui to look at him. He reminds her that Ling Xiao’s death was because Ling Xiao didn’t give in. He tells her not to be tricked by Fu Yin.
Tian Yao tells Yan Hui to calm down. He hands over the jade ring to her. He tells her not to let Ling Xiao and the immortals down because they didn’t give in. Yan Hui takes over the jade ring from Tian Yao. She cries to hug him when she calls master. She leaves with him.
Fu Yin thinks Tian Yao and Yan Hui cannot flee anywhere because he has hit the death knell. He turns all of the people into stone statues. Tian Yao takes Yan Hui and Bai Xiaosheng to flee to Misty Forest. Yan Hui believes that people will be affected by black powers.
Tian Yao thinks the enchantment in Dragon Valley can protect people. Yan Hui decides to absorb the black powers outside Dragon Valley to help Tian Yao. But he worries that the dragon flame will hurt her. She thinks she will be fine because she can absorb black powers.
Yan Hui tells Tian Yao to take Bai Xiaosheng to return to Dragon Valley. She goes to inform people. Tian Yao returns to Dragon Valley with Bai Xiaosheng. He sees the people. Feng Qianshuo reveals Yan Buhuo told them to come to Dragon Valley when the black powers came.
Tian Yao tells Zhu Li to treat Bai Xiaosheng. Feng Qianshuo asks Tian Yao if Yan Hui cannot come back. Tian Yao decides to go to do the things he should do. Feng Qianshuo gives the flower item he just fixed to Tian Yao. He tells him to let him know that he’s fine.
Yan Hui Sees the Hope
Yan Hui looks for people on the street. She sees the people who are affected by the black powers. She tries to absorb the black powers from them. But Fu Yin tells her to give up. Because he thinks she cannot dispel the evils in those people’s mind.
Yan Hui fails. It makes Fu Yin laugh. Yan Hui sees Zi Chen and Zi Yue fighting with the black powers. She rushes to them because she saw the hope of Morning Star Mountain. She blocks the black powers in front of them. She absorbs the black powers. But she’s tired.
Zi Chen goes to care for Yan Hui. She asks him if Morning Star Mountain is alive. Zi Chen and Zi Yue tell Yan Hui that Morning Star Mountain is still alive. Yan Hui takes Zi Chen and Zi Yue to Dragon Valley. She tells them to get into Dragon Valley to get treated.
Zi Chen wonders why Yan Hui doesn’t get into Dragon Valley with them. She tells him that she needs to look for the survivors. Zi Yue tells Yan Hui that she didn’t like her before. She reminds her that she didn’t let the haters happy even if she left Morning Star Mountain.
Zi Yue reveals Ling Xiao reached Morning Star Mountain after Yan Hui was kicked out. She reported to Ling Xiao that Yan Hui didn’t turn around before she left since she had been in Morning Star Mountain for ten years. But Ling Xiao told Zi Yue that it was the looks Yan Hui should be.
Zi Yue tells Yan Hui that Ling Xiao knew she will be touch even if she’s alone. Yan Hui tears up. She tells Zi Yue that she won’t let Ling Xiao down. Tian Yao holds dragon tooth to see Fu Yin. Fu Yin thinks Tian Yao doesn’t want to give up.

Episode 39 of Back From the Brink Chinese Drama ends with Yan Hui asking Tian Yao if he’s fine. He reveals he’s in Misty Forest. He tells her that he had to kill Fu Yin many times before Fu Yin kept being reborn. She tells him that she took the survivors to Dragon Valley.
