Wei Zhi thinks she will let her families live a good life if her immortal bone is tested. Wei Lingyue walks out of her room. The maid asks Wei Lingyue which hairpin she’s going to wear. Wei Lingyue tells the maid that she has worn the hairpin.
But the maid thinks it’s too simple. She reminds her that she’s going to get her immortal bone tested. Wei Lingyue thinks the looks aren’t important since she’s going to get her immortal bone tested. Wei Jingyue asks Wei Lingyue to take a look at the dresses she’s going to wear.
Wei Lingyue thinks each dress is beautiful. Wei Jingyue finds out that Wei Lingyue wears like usual. She thinks they’re going to be looked by many people if they’re chosen by Egret Academy. Wei Lingyue reminds Wei Jingyue that Egret Academy picks the top talents for Great Yu. She thinks they cannot get into Egret Academy.
Wei Jingyue thinks nobody is going to get into Egret Academy if they cannot get into the academy. She thinks nobody is stronger than Wei Ling Yue. Wei Lingyue tells Wei Jingyue to only say so at home. She worries that it will ruin their father’s reputation.
Wei Jingyue promises it. She thinks Wei Lingyue is like her father when she talks. Wei Zhi asks the old maid that if they’re going to leave. She tells her that she wants to get her immortal bone tested. The old maid tells Wei Zhi that her mother is going to take her home.
Wei Jingyue smells the new tea. She thinks the tea isn’t for humans. Master Wei reminds Wei Jingyue that it’s good that she can eat tea. He mentions there’re many people having no food. Wei Lingyue tells Master Wei that she prepared everything.
Master Wei tells Wei Lingyue to take care of her younger sister. He asks the butler if there’s anyone who needs to get her immortal bone tested. The butler reveals the person is Wei Zhi. Wei Jingyue tells Master Wei that Wei Zhi is a bad lucky star.
Master Wei laughs to tell Wei Lingyue to watch Wei Zhi. The old maid takes Wei Zhi to see Madam Gu. Madam Gu tells the old maid that she’s going to take away Wei Zhi. The old maid agrees to it. She walks away. Madam Gu tells Wei Zhi that she changed her birth date to Xinyou Year. She asks her not to tell the truth.
Wei Zhi asks her mother why she did so. Madam Gu reveals she plans to marry Wei Zhi to Chun family. She adds that the family is rich but the guy is a cripple. Wei Zhi claims that she doesn’t want to get married. She adds that she plans to go to test her immortal bone.
Madam Gu scolds Wei Zhi. She thinks the cripple wouldn’t accept her if she didn’t change her fate. She persuades her not to go to test her immortal bone. Wei Zhi claims that she wants to get into Egret Academy. She thinks she can change the situation of her family if she does so.
Madam Gu spits on Wei Zhi. She points out that the family situation was caused by Wei Zhi. She asks her to go back with her. But Wei Zhi insists on joining the academy because she believes that she can change her fate. Madam Gu beats Wei Zhi. She reveals she has accepted the wedding present which will be used for helping her brother go to school. She tells her not to mention the academy.
Wei Zhi makes an excuse that Wei Jingyue asked her to do something. She tries to go to have a talk with Wei Jingyue. But Madam Gu stops Wei Zhi because she thinks the old maid will arrange it. Wei Zhi flees. She runs into Wei Jingyue. She asks her to help her.
Wei Zhi reveals her mother plans to marry her to a cripple. But Wei Lingyue thinks it’s not their business. She tells Madam Gu to take Wei Zhi away. Wei Jingyue tries to leave with Wei Lingyue. Wei Zhi stops Wei Jingyue. She begs her to help her.
Wei Jingyue mentions the law asks person who reaches 16 years old to attend the crown ceremony. She asks Madam Gu if she wants to go to government office. Madam Gu gets on knees to Wei Jingyue. She tells her that she doesn’t dare to do that.
Wei Jingyue mentions Wei Zhi was sold to Wei family. Wei Zhi reveals the contract hasn’t expired. Wei Jingyue thinks Wei Zhi belongs to Wei family. She invites Wei Zhi to go to test immortal bone with her.
Wei Zhi is happy to follow Wei Jingyue’s carriage on the street. Wei Jingyue and Wei Lingyue are in the carriage. Wei Lingyue asks Wei Jingyue why she helped the bad luck girl. Wei Jingyue reveals she did it for her father’s face. Wei Lingyue points out that her older sister was soft.
Yan Yue shows up. We learn that he’s the son of the late heavenly empress Xi Cai. The little beggar blocks Wei Jingyue’s carriage. He asks for some food. But the servant pushes the little beggar away. The little beggar trips. The servant tells the people not to delay the crown ceremony of the ladies. They leave.
Wei Zhi gives some money to the little beggar. She tells him to go to buy something good with the money. She looks up and she sees Yan Yue. Yan Yue is surprised that Wei Zhi could see him.
Wei Zhi and the two ladies arrive at the palace. She sees Ming Lang. She recognizes him. But he doesn’t notice her. The ceremony begins. The young masters and the ladies walk to the appraisal mirror for testing their immortal bones. Wei Zhi steps on Wei Lingyue’s skirt by mistake. It makes Wei Lingyue trip. A phoenix flies out of the appraisal mirror. It flies to the heaven. The heavenly general Qing Huan blocks the attack of the phoenix with his great power.
We go to holy palace in demon realm. The magical flower Hua Rong glows. The great lord laughs. Yan Yue returns to Heavenly Palace. Heavenly Emperor asks his son what happened. Yan Yue reports to his father that something happened to the appraisal mirror. Heavenly Empress takes out her magical ball. She sees the phoenix.
We return to mortal world. The national master reports to Emperor that the phoenix visited them. He thinks it’s Emperor’s blessing. Emperor is very happy. National Master persuades Emperor to go to look for the real phoenix. He mentions the real phoenix came from the 18 young people. He offers to recruit the 18 young people into Egret Academy and get an expert to find the real phoenix. Emperor likes the idea. He leaves the case to National Master.
We go to Heavenly Palace. Yan Yue offers to use immortal spell to test the 18 people’s bloodlines to find the real phoenix. Heavenly Emperor points out that the phoenix will be invincible if her bloodline is activated. Qing Huan thinks there will be a catastrophe if the phoenix’s power is controlled by demon realm.
Heavenly Emperor thinks they should take action first. He orders Yan Yue to go to mortal world to find the real phoenix and control her. He asks Qing Huan to help Yan Yue. The two accept the order. But Yan Yue doesn’t want to work with Qing Huan because Qing Huan is too long-winded.
Qing Huan reveals Yan Yue will be a teacher in the academy because the 18 people are there. The fairy chef Yi Er and the heavenly prince Yan Luo come to see Yan Yue off. Yi Er heard Qing Huan’s long-winded. She thinks he’s like a mother. He scolds her when he chases her.
Rain God Yan Luo learns that his brother Yan Yue is going to leave. He thinks he’s a model. Yan Yue claims that it’s their duty to shoulder worry for father god. But Yan Luo thinks it’s not his duty. Yan Yue persuades Yan Luo to work for Heavenly Palace. He leaves.
Wei Zhi returns home. She’s happy to tell the good news to her mother that she was chosen by Egret Academy. Madam Gu disallows Wei Zhi to go to the academy. She thinks Wei Zhi wants to hurt her and her younger brother. Wei Zhi persuades her mother that she wants to help them live a good life.
She tells her mother that she doesn’t want to be servant all her life. But Madam Gu thinks Wei Zhi wants to be a demon. She hits her with a broom. Wei Zhi’s younger brother Wei Ye stops his mother. He begs her not to beat his older sister.
Madam Gu mentions Wei Ye didn’t have to suffer it if it wasn’t because of Wei Zhi. He claims that he only knows that Wei Zhi was nice to him. Wei Zhi remembers her father and her grandpa were killed for saving her.
Wei Ye joins Wei Zhi. He tells her not to blame their mother. He thinks their mother was just tired. He asks her to eat the Osmanthus cakes. He thinks the cake is the best cake in the world. But she tells him that the best cake is the Gu City Rice Cake.
Wei Ye learns that Wei Zhi is going to go to Egret Academy. She promises to come back after he recites Yu Poetry. She thinks she will earn a lot of money. He wants to go to eat the rice cake once they’re rich.
Wei Zhi leaves home without saying goodbye to her mother. She wrote a letter to her and she promised to be careful. She follows Wei Lingyue and Wei Jingyue to Egret Academy. She tries to help Wei Lingyue get off the carriage. But Wei Lingyue tells Wei Zhi to get lost.
The group reaches the mountain gate. The guard disallows Wei Lingyue and Wei Jingyue to take their maid. Wei Lingyue gets angry. But she has to accept the rule. Wei Lingyue, Wei Zhi and Wei Jingyue walk on the mountain road. Wei Lingyue throws her and Wei Jingyue’s baggage to Wei Zhi.
The three girls reach the academy. The guard shows up. He mentions there’s a small room. Wei Zhi volunteers to live in the room.
Wei Zhi walks into the hall of the academy with the students. The dean Jing Xiu welcomes the students. He reveals the academy invited an immortal to teach them. Yan Yue walks into the hall. Wei Zhi recognizes Yan Yue. The boy complains that the girls won’t study because the teacher is too handsome.
Wei Jingyue smiles when she looks at Yan Yue. What you want to do? Do you fall for the teacher? Yan Yue takes out a ruler. He beats the boy Bao Liang with the ruler. Bao Liang is scared to ask Yan Yue for his mercy. He fears his power. Yan Yue tells Bao Liang not to be frivolous. He announces the fire rule of the academy which is respecting teacher. The students obey the order.
Jing Xiu walks Yan Yue in the hallway. He mentions Yan Yue is the old friend of National Master. Yan Yue admits it. It flashes back. Yan Yue sneaks into the cave of Immortal Island. He stuns the immortal with his immortal power. He walks out of the cave when National Master takes his men to welcome the immortal. National Master mentions he contacted the immortal through the letters. He’s surprised that Yan Yue is so young.
We return to the present. Jing Xiu worries that Yan Yue will choose a wrong phoenix because he’s a good friend of National Master. Yan Yue comforts Jing Xiu that nobody can change the phoenix’s fate.
Yan Yue gathers the students to the yard. He punishes them because they’re dejection. He casts a light ball to the sky. It forms a circle universe which gives the students a light shower. The students try their best to resist the light rain.
Yan Yue announces the second rule of the academy which is self-discipline. He leaves and he lets the students suffer the spell. The students are tired to return to the classroom. Bao Liang thinks they came to hell. Wei Lingyue hugs Wei Jingyue. She complains to her older sister. Wei Jingyue is gentle to comfort Wei Lingyue.
Yan Yue shows up. The students stand up. Yan Yue asks the students to study the rules of the academy. He leaves the classroom. Bao Liang reads the rules. He learns that they need to serve the teacher. He complains it to the classmates.
Wei Jingyue leaks that there’s a handyman. She walks to Wei Zhi and she introduces her as the maid of Wei family to the classmates. She teases her that she’s a phoenix. She asks her to help her clean the classroom when she pokes her.
The guy cannot stand it. He scolds Wei Jingyue when he mentions what the teacher said that there’s no noble and lowly. But she mentions the second rule self-discipline. She tells Wei Zhi to sell her powers because her mother sold her to Wei family. Ming Lang reminds everyone the last rule that the one will be expelled if she talks about phoenix. Wei Jingyue is furious to forgive Wei Zhi.
We go to Demon Realm. Great Lord shows up in the woods. He summons a leaf and he tells her that she’s his eye. The leaf flies away. The follower praises Great Lord because there’s no demon smell. Great Lord is confident. He thinks nobody can break his spell.
The leaf flies to the academy. Great Lord returns to his palace. He watches the academy through Hua Rong. Wei Zhi sees the eye from the yard. She thinks there’re many evil spirits in the academy. She questions the holiness of the academy.
Bao Liang runs into Wei Zhi in the hallway. He asks her to be his mistress. She threatens to throw hot water on him. She leaves.
Episode 1 of Beauty of Resilience ends with Wei Zhi walking into Yan Yue’s room. He wonders how did she get into the room since he set up an enchantment. She tries to leave after she dropped the clothes. But he stops her and asks her how did she get into his room.
She reveals she walked into the room. He lets her look up. He sees her tearing up. He sees himself getting stabbed then. Yan Yue feels painful in his heart. Wei Zhi grabs his hand when she cares for him. His bracelet glows.
Episode 2 Recap & Ending
Yan Yue takes a look at Wei Zhi. He sees her burning the bodyguards after her families were killed. He feels painful in his heart. She cares for him. But he catches her and pushes her over. He tells her to leave. Yan Yue summons Qing Huan. He tells him that there was a girl breaking into his enchantment.
Qing Huan thinks the girl is the phoenix. But Yan Yue tells Qing Huan that the girl is just a mortal. Yan Yue reveals he saw Wei Zhi’s future that she will be killed in the flame. Qing Huan reminds Yan Yue that he will be punished by heavenly rules if he steps in the mortal’s fate.
Qing Huan tells Yan Yue not to put the girl into his mind since the girl is just a mortal. He tells him to go to look for the phoenix. Qing Huan remembers Heavenly Emperor asked him to report what Yan Yue does to him. Qing Huan wishes Yan Hui not to take the previous path.
Devil King’s eye flies into Bao Liang’s forehead. Bao Liang returns to academy. He goes to sleep. Yan Yue trains the students. Devil King sees Yan Hui through his eye. He thinks he’s the new teacher. He asks the follower about Yan Yue’s history.
The follower tells Devil King that he saw Yan Yue using the heavenly spells. Wei Jingyue casts the stone to Wei Zhi. She tells her to massage her legs. Wei Zhi massages Wei Jingyue’s legs. Yan Yue shows up. He asks Wei Jingyue if she feels comfortable. He tells Wei Zhi to go to run with Wei Jingyue. Because he thinks Wei Zhi didn’t respect herself.
Yan Yue tells the students that he’s going to take the first class. The student asks Yan Yue about the previous classes. Yan Yue shows the book to the students. He tells them what they’re going to learn are the immortal spells. He tells them that they’re going to hurt themselves if they study the spells without the physique.
The student asks Yan Yue to show the spell to them. Wei Zhi reads Teleportation Spell. Yan Yue uses the teleportation spell to be close to the student. It startles the student. Yan Yue tells the students what they look for is the immortal path.
Wei Lingyue gives a speech about immortal path. Wei Zhi trips after Yan Yue used the teleportation spell on her. The student thinks Wei Zhi cannot learn the spell because she couldn’t stand well. Yan Yue tells the students that Wei Zhi tripped because she didn’t trust him.
Wei Lingyue learns teleportation spell. Yan Yue asks Wei Lingyue what she was thinking. She tells him that she didn’t think anything. Wei Jingyue thinks her older sister is gifted. Yan Yue takes Wei Lingyue away. Wei Zhi thinks Wei Lingyue did a great job. She wishes to be like her.
We return to Demon Realm. The follower thinks the girl is phoenix. Great Lord scolds the follower. He thinks he shouldn’t guess phoenix. Yan Yue takes Wei Lingyue to the city gate tower. He hugs her before she trips. She’s shy to step back after she noted that she stepped on his robe.
She explains it to him that she didn’t react because it was too sudden. They watch the citizens together. He thinks it was her first time to witness it because she had stayed in her room. She reveals she heard natural disasters from her father. She doesn’t expect there’s a famine in Capital Yu. She thinks the citizens are so poor.
Yan Yue asks Wei Lingyue about her feelings. She thinks she shouldn’t be affected by such a thing because she’s a cultivator. He’s satisfied with her answer. He tells her to follow the intentions of heaven. She returns to the academy.
Wei Jingyue is happy after she saw Wei Lingyue. She holds her hands and she asks her where she went with Yan Yue. Wei Lingyue reveals she went to the city wall. Wei Jingyue is surprised that the two went so far. Yan Yue returns. He announces the ending of the class. He tells the students to transcribe the spell 100 times. He leaves.
Wei Jingyue asks Wei Zhi to clean the academy. Wei Zhi points out that the teacher didn’t give her the order. Wei Jingyue scolds Wei Zhi when she reminds her that she’s the maid of Wei family. Wei Lingyue persuades her younger sister not to give Wei Zhi a hard time.
But Wei Jingyue thinks she didn’t bully Wei Zhi. She complains it to her older sister that Wei Zhi talked back to her. She thinks she will lose her face if the thing gets spread. Wei Lingyue persuades Wei Zhi to follow Wei Jingyue’s order. Wei Zhi agrees to it. Wei Jingyue is happy to leave with her older sister. Ming Lang witnesses it. He worries about Wei Zhi. But he walks away after he had an eye contact with her.
It flashes back. Ming Lang and Wei Zhi have a meeting at a bar. Ming Lang is surprised that Wei Zhi fled from the big fire. She tells him that she’s the maid of Wei family. She asks him to pretend not to know her. He comforts her that everything will get better once she’s out of the slavery.
She reveals she plans to learn the real skills so that she can raise her mother and her younger brother. He promises not to leak the trace of her family. He mentions he gave her a hairpin. She reveals she pawned the hairpin.

Episode 2 of Beauty of Resilience ends with the beggar getting on knees to Wei Zhi. He asks her for her mercy. She gives some money to him. She complains to him that she’s not a rich girl. But he robs all of her money. She chases him and finds out that he tells his sick mother that he’s rich.
